my wife and I have a black lab we adopted about 5 years ago.

She's been a great, very affectionate dog with the us.  She does take a bit to warm up to people, but then she's practically a lap dog. 18 months ago we had a daughter and the dog has growled at her a few times and been obviously very uncomfortable.  We've tried tons of training and supervised time but every once in a while she growls.   Not like dog fight, like a grumble and walks away.

We are looking for ideas, be it a new home or some other idea.  Were reaching out to social and church friends but I'm not very optimistic so far.  I don't know where to turn or if chipping in money helps or hurts?

Thanks

Dog could be anxious around the child causing this behavior.

There are tons of good dog-child resources on the internet, have you searched out any of those?

Yeah, we just wrapped up about 6 months of training and tons of posstive reinforcement.  Whenever the baby is in the room the dogs getting petted.    Today's growling happened while my wife was petting the dog even

My dog did that with our kids. Dog is 10 and kids are 6 and 3. He just grumbled when they were around. It doesn't happen all the time just occasionally. And we taught the kids that he was just grumpy and to give him space and all is pretty good. The dog is 100% OK with bug kids and adults. We did a lot of training too with 3 different trainers.

No real reason to his grumpy disposition other than he likes to be around sure footed people who won't fall on him.
