Howdy all. Just saw that Jan Brewer is out. Whats the read on your new governor? He's a sketchy ice cream salesman which means he can only be trusted as far as his last signature. I think he's along the Fife Symington ilk. I expect to see some wtf? moments from the guy depending on who's throwing money at him. |

Well at least ole Fife kept the state in a good fiscal status, and never signed an anti gun law to my knowledge. I'd take the old type of Governor, Symington, or Rose Mofford, any day. |

Yeah as long as the criminals don't bother your interests, they are A-OK. You don't do white collar right? In case you don't remember (from Wiki): "Later, Symington was indicted on 21 federal counts of extortion, making false financial statements, and bank fraud. He was convicted for seven counts of bank fraud on September 4, 1997. He was charged for defrauding his lenders as a commercial real estate developer, extorting a pension fund and perjuring himself in a bankruptcy hearing. As Arizona state law does not allow convicted felons to hold office, Symington resigned his office the next day.[6] This conviction, however, was overturned in 1999 by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Six days into jury deliberations, the trial judge had granted the government's motion to dismiss a juror because the other jurors complained she was refusing to deliberate with them, a serious breach of the juror's oath. A three-judge panel of the appeals court ruled 2–1 that there was a reasonable possibility that the juror had actually been removed because she was leaning toward acquittal, and the rest of the jury was frustrated at the prospect of a hung jury (in federal cases, verdicts must be unanimous). The appeals court held that the juror's dismissal violated Symington's right to a fair trial, since he was entitled to that juror's vote. Before the government could retry him, Symington was pardoned in January 2001 by President Clinton, terminating the federal government's seven-year battle with the former governor. Symington had once saved a young Bill Clinton from a rip tide off of Cape Cod." |

In this country he's a free man who's not guilty. I'm old enough to remember Fife reopening the Grand Canyon with state officials and funds when the Federal Government shutdown; it made him a couple enemies. Now I'm not dumb enough to think that Fife didn't do some shit wrong, but his record of what he did for the State? It's better than a lot of people that were Governor after him. Anyways, lets hope the new governor leaves the state in good fiscal care and signs the bills Brewer was unwilling to. |

You should try telling that to the pension fund. http://definitions.uslegal.com/p/pardon/ |

I have shot with Symington. He has fired a few of my class 3 items. Even ate a few meals he cooked. Good guy as far as I am concerned. |

Symington is not guilty of those crimes by our legal standard. |

He was even willing to send the National Guard up to the Grand Canyon to forcibly re-open it when Clinton wanted to shut it down for a photo-shoot. |

At this point in the history of our country, I'll take a straight up crook over a democrat any day. Not saying that Ducey is a crook, just my opinion of democrats. Dark money!!!!
I am not a big fan of Ducey. That being said, there is no way that I would have supported or voted for DuVal. |
