i like to set up some shade when I go out to shoot, basically make a day of it. In the past I was using a 10X10 EZ-up but it was lost in an RV fire.

Anyone using something that is lighter than the pop up style canopy for a little relief from the sun?

Thanks,
stephen

Id stick with the EZ-UP.

Big 5 usually has one on sale at any given time.

This

I used to use and still have one of these:

They are half the weight but require quite a bit more setup. Ever since I got my first EZ-UP several years ago it has sat in it's bag. I can setup and break down my 10x10 EZ-UP by myself but the other thing requires two people if I recall correctly.

Tell you what though half the time I end up off to the side of my EZ-UP due to the shifting sun, I really need to find a sun wall for it; guess a tarp will work as well.

I hang a tarp on the side for a different reason.  if you shoot next to the tarp the spent bass hits the tarp and sides down into a nice pile.  Easy clean up.

Not sure what EZ-up brand canopies go for, but I seem to recall them being kinda pricey.  I had a Coleman 10x10 canopy that was absolutely the best damn thing out there imho, but I finally broke it by not having it tied down on a windy day.  (Got it for pretty cheap at walmart.)

Next up, I think I may try ye olde walmart brand.  Ozark Trail 10x10 canopy INCLUDING four folding chairs (probably cheap too but hey, something for lazy guests who forget their own chairs) is selling right now for $90.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it'll be another EZ-up.
