| Anyone else ever had critters boldly coming into camp fearless of you getting out of tent and yelling and hucking rocks at them? Bold and squaring off at <10' distances |

| Just checked regs on killing them, a little confused. If you just look up raccoon azgfd site says its the only animal you can shoot at night because they are nocturnal but in rules and regs it says you can't use a fire arm at night. In the regs theres a note allowing shotguns on coyotes at night in certain areas as long as the light isn't attached to a vehicle. I get not hunting in campgrounds, this is primitive camping. Any ideas? |

100% legal to hunt coons with a firearm at night. Only animal in AZ. Coyotes and mountain lions can also be hunted at night, though all of the night hunting (including coons) is limited to certain seasons, and coyotes are limited to certain firearms (no centerfire). The AZGFD also calls this 'daylong hours' instead of night hunting. You can never use a light attached to a vehicle or boat. If you are in a location (legally and game management unit allowed) where you could normally hunt, and the season currently allows 'daylong hours' hunting, then you're good to go. A general hunting license is required, and an OTC tag is required for lions. |

So thats what "day long" means. So you can't use center fire for coyotes? That just leaves rim fire and bow? I gotta get in your predator course, hopefully schedule allows for september. Thanks Rizzo. No centerfire rifle or handgun for coyotes, but shotgun shooting shot is allowed. |
