turkeys are pretty random in my experience. They will stick around an area but not usually for more than a month or so. I rarely see them gathering in the same places two years in a row and can't seem to find any pattern to where they like to be other than "in the forest". I just look for tracks. From my limited experience with them, they do seem to be very random. From everything I've read I should try to find a tank to sit near (which is going to likely be crowded) as well as edges of meadows especially if there are oaks (insects and acorns). At least I have until Oct 3 to prepare..... Gotta find me a map of the forest roads in that unit. |
