Thanks

Also looking for their new coffee IPA collab called Stone/Dayman Coffee IPA which has been out for a month already...   WTF - I guess the phx based distribution must wait until no more accounts want any more of the special releases & only then does it get shipped up north!?!?

Just this year they are releasing the espresso for their "odd year " release along with the normal IRS too.

I'm sure the 2011 Belgo Anise was your fav version right?
I never tried it but everyone said it was the WORST IRS ever!

Not your IRS, but it's "new" and limited

Stone Brewing Co in AZ · 183 like this

  • The next Stone Collaboration Aleman/Two Brothers/Stone Dayman Coffee IPA just landed in AZ. This will roll out to very-limited locations across the state - hit me for details if you can't fine it, it's gonna be needle in a haystack scenario. Tops in Tempe, Total Wine, BevMo, Aj's Glendale-only, Famous Pizza Sedona, 1702 Tucson, Ground Control Noble Hops The Hungry Monk Whole Foods Market etc

If anyone has seen the Imperial Russian Stout in either variation around the Phoenix area, please post where.

I have seen the Bastard Ale at Bashas, Albertsons, Sprouts.. They did have a selection of Stone brew at Wholefoods in Chandler, but no IRS

(it has been months since I was there though)

Can't speak to Phoenix, but the places I'd go look or call if you want to find something (besides Chandler Whole Foods which you mentioned) would include Sun Devil in Mesa, Tops in Tempe, GCM Liquor in Gilbert, Total Wine, the Tempe location of Bevmo (Chandler location is shit for beer selection), T's Liquor in Tempe, etc.  These are usually the most well stocked places in the East valley.

I just said put phoenix to distinguish from Flagstaff, Prescott, Tucson etc..

I will have to check some of these, total wine near that san tan mall did not have it, but that was a few months back.

I hit the total wine at San Tan Village/ Gilbert.

I did not see the Stone R.I.S. and asked about it, they said did not have it in yet, so Ill be checking back.

They did have a few others though, I tried the Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine Style Ale tonight, a bit too sweet for my taste.

I have a smokey porter chilling in the fridge too, looking forward to trying that one out.

I picked up a Big Bad Baptist Imperial Russian Stout by Epic Brewing co

Ill give that a try maybe next weekend. I have never tried anything from that brewery before.

That's pretty good but still not an IRS!  Its a bit watered down but has a definite coffee & bourbon barrel bite to it.

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout.. my favorite stout.  Followed closely by Port brewing OLDER viscosity, followed closely by Avery's Mephistophelese stout.

I need to try the other versons of stones IRS.. the IRS is good, but no where near the top of my list.

Stone Pron.. Drinkin double bastard at the source!

Older Viscosity is good stuff.  I also have a deep love for FW's Parabola.

October 2011, it was in the general public area.

Ok you do have it there, a good quality stout, aged, can be friggin epic.

I am from OC, but never really got down there before I moved here.

GCM over in Gilbert has it now as well.  Was just over there and got a few of the Espresso IRS and some Enjoy By, all $6.99 ea.  Missed out on the 2013 Parabola dammit.  They sold out last night.  Only got a couple cases in.  More places should have that tomorrow or Monday when their allocations come in.

yep finally got some today...   I wasn't able to get EVEN 1 of my former coworkers to snag me a discounted case (only $25 for a full case)...      THEM BASTARDS!  lol

Damn full price hurts real good!  I got spoiled rotten working there for sure!

They would only let me buy 4 which was probably for the better anyways.  Wife unit was mad about the 4+1 that I bought already!

This one unfortunately had cocoa nibs and coffee added...

I took one small drink and I was done, that shit went down the drain.

I thought it might mean it had a slight hint of cocoa and coffee.. but it really tasted like cocoa and a coffee up front and with aftertaste..

I tried the Stone smoked porter, it had little character, it was light/watery. It was still drinkable but just not what I was expecting from a porter.

Last week was a rough week for me and beer.

FOUND IT!!!!

WHOLE FOODS in Scottsdale Mayo rd? Scottsdale rd and 101?

I bought the last two bottle last Sunday They may have put more out by now though

It was the 2013 classic release. Drinking it now, very good, a little on the sweet side but an enjoyable sweet. Even my wife who does not like dark beer, esp strong dark beer said it was not bad. haha

I have the other one chilling in the fridge and will probably drink that tomorrow.

Also, I picked up a bottle of Indra Kunindra... fucking awful!!!

Thanks again to scharfshutze06 for turning me onto this fine nectar at the CV shoot.
