I just had to share this picture of Eric English, who is my business and personal lawyer:

I know a lot of you here are very experienced with firearms, self-defense, and the law. One thing that not everybody considers, however, is a lawyer that can represent them just in case things go wrong - and we've seen how that can really damage someone's life here in AZ. Being a member of the NRA, AZCDL, even the Armed Citizens' Legal Defense Network can all be good options to make sure you are as prepared as possible - but what about a local lawyer that you know and trust, and who can handle things not just related to your guns?

I use Eric (English Law Firm), who is based in Prescott, and some of you here in the AZ HTF have already used him to set up your gun trusts, and others already have him on retainer for self-defense concerns. He's a shooter and a hunter, a member right here on ARFCOM, a family man, a good person, and a true defender of second amendment rights. If you already have a lawyer that you trust, that's awesome - but if you don't, you should consider Eric.

Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network, Marty Hayes and Mas Ayoob's organization.  I understand they assisted one of our members in Tucson.

As an FYI, if any of you ever need a defense attorney (and my wife does family law as well as criminal), please feel free to contact me also.  We're in Mesa.

Any idea what Mr. English charges for an NFA Trust? Spoke to an attorney in Phoenix today and he quoted me $500. He said he did up the trust from scratch after researching the National Firearms Act and learning what exactly the ATF is looking for in submitted NFA Trusts. A friend of mine in GA paid $600 for his trust, but I just cant see why these lawyers charge so much for something the already have on file. I mean all they have to do is make a Master Copy and then fill in the blanks with the client's personal info then print, right?

Thanks,
Matt

Eric also charges $500. A lawyer is generally not giving you just a simple trust, but something much more comprehensive and protected. As for the price, everything from a lawyer is expensive - just look at their hourly rate.

what does it cost on average to have a lawyer on retainer?  that tailgate alone is enough reason to pick him.

Dont I recall you starting a thread  wanting to cave once the current gun control hysteria started?  Just take the first plea they offer ya and save your retainer.

Mas Ayoob and Marty Hayes are looking for attorney's in this area to be part of the Armed citizens Legal Defense Network.  This is a great organization and both of these men are rather nationally known.  I think you might like to work with them. Several of us here can arrange a meeting with them if you choose.
