I'll be in Phoenix for training and testing April 28nd to the May 3rd. My days will be full, but my nights will be free and I'm already planning on being bored as all get out. What are some cool things to see / take photos of / places to go / places to eat at?
My classes and such are in the neighborhood of Sky Harbor, but I'm not averse to doing a little driving if it's worth it. Thanks! Edited 'cause they changed my intinerary on me, dangit. |

Bobby Q's is 15-20 minutes from sky harbor. It's a great restaurant, amazing. Castle and coasters is fun if you haven't been before. Sunsplash the water park is open IIRC and they do a night time thing on Fridays for adults and kids can only come if they have direct supervision. They have an amazing half pipe slide there. |

about 20 minutes south of sky harbor is phoenix rod & gun club.

Mr. Poole laid out a pretty comprehensive description of everything shooting-related that you can do in the area.
If you're into the nightlife, clubbing, barhopping etc I strongly suggest you roll down to Mill Ave. It's where all the Arizona State students go to blow off steam (and pick up the girlies ) It's just 10 minutes from the airport.
I also recommend the Musical Instrument Museum which will be about 30 minutes North of the airport. It's an AMAZING place to visit if you're a musician or if you just have an appreciation for music. |
) It's just 10 minutes from the airport.
