I was expecting the "if you know how to shoot you don't need this" comments Why even us a scope? Some of the best snipers of all time made most of their kills with iron sights. I'm not saying you shouldn't learn to shoot. I'm just saying this is cool. I can definitely understand the utility of the tagging system, I just wonder how well it will be executed. Precision shooting has more to do with things other than actually lining up on the target, I am not sure how much of an impact this product will have on precision. |

Could be a good application for the military, make any private into a sniper without months and months of training. |

That would assume that the most important factor in precision shooting is lining up on target, counter to popular belief it is not. If all you had to do was put the "t" on the "X" then everyone would be a expert shooter. |

I don't believe this system adjusts for windage, or a moving target for that matter, it only adjusts vertically. Looks to me like you 'tag" the target, the computer figures out the distance, and adjusts the setting of the scope for that distance, then once you're back on target you can fire. All of which an experienced individual who is familiar with their weapon system could probably do in about the same time. |

Yeah, it kind of looks like it designates the range with a laser range finder or something and auto calculates a firing solution by adjusting the reticle. Wouldn't be very useful for windage adjustments or picking off a moving target if that's the case. Lasing a range and dialing in elevation is the easy part. Calling the wind, getting a proper lead, and breaking the trigger with consistent fundamentals is what makes long range shooting hard. |
