They've been making runs at it with the tanker planes since early this morning.

My money is on an unattended campfire. Happens a lot in this state.

All right, tinfoil hat time. I saw a news segment saying "terrorist" were starting forest fires. After a little google this seems to be old news but new to me, makes sense though. My paranoia was heightened when there was arson attempt in Payson last week or so, accelerants found, etc. While I think it valid and we DO live on the loosest freaking border in the world I choose not to be swayed that way and think campfire, natural causes, etc. Fires suck regardless of their cause. Anyone had to be evacuated before? It sucks. Nearly lost the Family home in Beaver Valley when the Waterwheel burned. I hiked out to the house to watch it flame up but it was stopped before it hit us. Evacuated during the Dude fire as well. We thought 28,000+ acres was bad back then. That is nothing compared to the fires now. Good Luck Men, stay safe.

Remember the recent fires down south? The Horseshoe, Horseshoe 2, and Monument fires weren't started by terrorists.

I could see two fires (the smoke) from here in NE Mesa, looks like one was in the direction of Crown King and the other to the north east toward Payson but a little west...

Hopefully they get them under control. No winky smile needed on my part. Most fires are started by the main bitch, Mother Nature, and the rest by ignorant fucking flat landers. If my tinfoil hat wasn't so tight I would talk about Project X-Ray.

Was unaware of any fires until I heard, then saw a couple of tankers sortie.

Oh, oh. Is always my first reaction.

I love the tall pines and would be happy to live in them but fear of a fire is why I chose the Williamson Valley for a home. Junipers and small pines with a good firebreak around the house.

It's going to be a shitty fire season I'm afraid, unless we get some damn monsoons this year.

Yeah, last one caught us by surprise, but it was late as far as monsoons go. This high pressure front though is keeping all that moisture away. It;s gonna be a while before more rain, I am guessing.

Perhaps we should gather for a HTF rain dance. Pierce the clouds with rounds and pass the pipe.
