I close on my house 15 May and am trying to figure out what the best route to go for TV selections would be..
I currently have Dish with a DVR and Netflix. Was thinking of going HULU and ditching Dish... who is using HULU and do you like it? |

I was a long time DirecTV subscriber. Then one day I woke up and realized I was spending $1200 a year on a shitty product that I didn't need. I have a Netflix Subscription, and an awesome OTA antenna I bought on line and installed myself using the existing coax and plate from the satellite hookup. I also have the Sony Blu-Ray player from Sam's Club ($90) which comes loaded with a shit load of video and audio apps, most of which I've never heard of. Some of them offer the ability to stream recent releases in HD from your current wireless home network. I now pend $7.99/ month on TV. Everybody in the house is happy. Cable and satellite TV are obsolete business models. |

I hulu and Netflix it. The Netflix I share with a friend so I just pay for the hulu. So my cable bill is also 7.99 a month and I love it. Here is some Amazing hulu shows you should check out Man Up Misfits Community And here is some Netflix shows Dollhouse LilyHammer FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood Only a few shows fall between the cracks when you have both hulu and netflix, like Game of Thrones for example, Person of Interest, and Hell on Wheels, but there are ways to grab those up too. |

Similar story as the above posters. Dropped Cox cable for an Apple TV (linked to every computer/iPad and Netflix), TiVo (hulu and an easy dvr) and an antenna. Saving a ton and I get what I want instead of 300 channels I would never watch with far less capability than I have now.
To rate your question. Netflix 4 stars, Hulu 2 stars. Based from content and price. |

Quoted: Had Hulu on Roku and found it impossible to navigate. Use Netflix daily. Selling the Roku in favor of an XBMC box with a scraper and torrents (once I learn how to configure and download them) Maybe it was the way roku ran it or maybe it has updated since than. I run mine through the xbox and it is stupid easy to use. |
