Anybody in the East valley have a set of 556 and a 223 wylde? Or 556 and 223 rem?
I had an interesting thing happen at the last 3gun match. Went to clear my rifle at the end of a stage, bolt was jammed shut, had to hit the buttstock on a table and pull the charging handle to clear it. Didn't notice anything at the time as it was the last rifle stage of the day but grains of gun powder were in my receiver and on the outside. Went to clean the rifle, bullet was stuck in the barrel near the chamber and was able to give an easy smack on the cleaning rod while holding the receiver and shot the bullet out the back of the receiver. Bullet has rifling marks above the crimp, 1/8" long so it doesn't look like it went anywhere down the barrel. ETA - barrel is a JP 223 wylde and was shooting m193 ammo. |
