A non regulated animal in Arizona right?
If so that means no weapon restrictions or hunting licsense needed right?

A friend wants to know.

They are regulated - there is a season and the normal legal methods of take apply, including the necessity for a hunting license.

Where in the heck are the regulations posted then? I have the reptile’s book and the General Hunting and trapping regulations and cannot recall seeing anything about them.

A search on the AZG&F site only brings up the black tailed version and from what I can deduce is that they are off limits. There was a mention of the Gunnison’s prairie dog up north and I’m assuming that’s the one that are at the ranch up off the I40/Route 66.

I’ll do some more digging, thanks.

They're not? Dam I thought they where a hybrid; next you're going to tell me santas not real!

I can see the very fact I mentioned having that book in this context is a FAIL.

Oh well enjoy the laugh.

While they may not be reptiles... they are armed with automatic rifles!

Let's be careful out there.

I believe down at Empire Ranch they have Black Tail prairie dog. Can't hunt them though, at least that's what the sign said....

I didn't even know we had any.

My deer tag is in 18A, did a bunch of scouting up there yesterday. One of the ranches had a bunch of p-dogs. I didn't know there was a season 'cause if I had my AR I would have popped a good dozen easy. Now I know!

PS - this ranch was up by the caverns.
