I'm going to be scouting for my whitetail hunt this weekend in unit 32 and have never hunted in this area before. Does anyone have any experience with this area to recommend some good places to scout? I've hunted muley's all my life in units 36A/B/C, so this is my first hunt in this area and my first ever whitetail hunt.

Tough area due to lots of locked gates/controlled access....especially along the San Pedro in the Mammoth and San Manual area. There is NO access on the east side of the Winchesters due to this, and the east side of the Galiuro's has less access issues, but lots of hunting pressure. Go to Coueswhitetail.com and look around for some info.

Access the Galiuro Wilderness from the east side and backpack in.  Anywhere in that unit thats drivable is destroyed by lazy scumbags on ATVs.

East of Mercer Ranch. The ranch access is closed, but you can hike around it! Take the mine road and using the map and a GPS, get behind their land. I used to be on good terms with them from a few years back after we called the local smokey on some guys stealing cactus off their land. Turned out they were selling them to fund a meth lab also on the land. That was around when they started charging $25 a person for access due to all the trash (I still say it was locals).
