I've got a '02 3.9 Dodge Dakota that I'm going to replace the distributor on in an attempt to clear up a random - open loop to closed loop misfire.
The FSM states that the fuel sync needs checked after the distributor is replaced, using a DRBIII scanner. I guess this can be also done with a snap-on scanner. I am looking for a mechanic in Phoenix, preferably an ar15 member, do check the fuel sync on my truck. Recommendations? |

DRB III's are chrysler specific "scanners." They can also modify or "flash" exhisting programs on pcm's
Scanners like the snap on, otc etc can only read data. They cannot flash. The DRB is like the old NGS ford scan tool. Did the same thing up til 2005 then changed to the PC based IDS. 2006 and newer Chryslers use the chrysler star mobile which is PC based Will |
