I was just looking at the Maricopa county website for information on submitting a ATF Form 1 for an SBR I want to build. I noticed something I wanted to share and ask if this is accurate because there is no note of this on the BATF forms.

"Please note that BATF will not accept the application if front and back are on separate sheets of paper."

Also MCSO has their own forms you have to fill out just so you can submit for a signature.

I have read this in my research of getting an SBR.  The SBR forum section also makes note numerous times to make sure you print front and back.

ETA:  How are you doing your SBR?  AGP makes lowers already marked SBR, not sure how I handle that if I went that route.

This is correct

ALL ATF forms MUST be on 1 sheet of paper (front and back)

Edit: i don;t know how anyone would sell a lower already marked SBR. It is not considered an SBR until the serial is put into the registry with this you must engrave YOUR name onto it. I can't see why they would do this as it makes the process and wait significantly longer.

I just bought a Spikes lower and plan to add an upper after I get the stamp back. As far as an SBR marked lower I assume that would be a form 4 purchase of an existing registered SBR.

I won't claim to be an expert at this. I have suppresor, but the maker basically walked me through getting all my paperwork. This is my first attempt since then at getting another stamp.

You need to know what upper you are going to get as you need to put barrel length and overall length on the form 1

A form 4 is a transfer form. If the lower is already registered, then yes it would be a transfer. Form 1 is for building

I plan to get a 10.5" upper so I am filling out the paper work as such. It is that same old dance. You can't get the stamp till you have barrel length and overall dimensions but just having a lower and sbr upper before you have the stamp is illegal.

I would think as long as the measurement is close you're GTG.
As I hear it the ATF doesn't care if you put a different upper on there, making the whole measurement process a complete time waster and useless supplementation of info.  Seriously, you are going to have a gun with a barrel shorter than 16" and you are cleared to have one - GREAT move on sorry

When I got my stamp an ATF NFA rep told me to put shortest bbl length that I will have, and that I could always go bigger. I put a 4" bbl length and wrote 14" as OAL and it was kosher, although I now have a 10.5" bbl on it.

Thats false

You need to put the actual one you are going to use. If you plan later on to go to a different barrel size, as long as you keep the original, the change is considered temporary and nothing needs to be done. If you change the barrel size permanently, all that is needed is a letter to the branch stating so.
