US60 between Globe and Show Low is closed right now apparently?
www.az511.com says something about the duration of the closure being from 4:29pm to 9:00pm Is that something that can be somewhat counted on? Like the road is being cleared right now and should be open after 9:00? |

Yeah, tonight is off for sure. Apparently it's total chaos along that stretch of road. I talked to a buddy in Pinetop who just got off it, and lots and lots of cars stuck, sliding into each other, sliding into guardrails, can't see the road.
Now ADOT says it will be closed till 11:30. Tomorrow after the sun is up and warms things up a bit, maybe it will be passable. |

Yeah, the time is just an estimate. It could be earlier or later. Don't count on it.
Have you checked the 260 between Payson and Show Low? That might be an alternate route if they're keeping it clear. It's the way we usually go up there when we don't feel like hauling the trailer through the Salt River canyon. ETA: The 260 is showing as open, but 4x4 or chains required. |
