Needless to say, I'm feeling bothered by events these past few years and felt I had to write something, so forgive me if this is kind of rambling...
I'm not a perfect person. I've made mistakes in my life, but on the whole I'd say I turned out pretty good and alot of my positive qualities as well and some of the best childhood memories can be tied directly to my being in the Scouting program. My father was active in both Cub Scouts as well as Boy Scouts with me and we did alot of cool stuff together. While in the Boy Scouts I learned to help others and pitch in for the common good. Not because I had to or I was expected to, but becasue it was the right thing to do. I was taught to take care of myself and to "Always be Prepared" (a mind set that has served me well through life). My first real "job" as a kid was working at the commissary at Camp Geronimo where Mr. James taught me to work a job like a grown up. Boy Scouts introduced me to formal shooting and my time as a instructor on the rifle range at Camp Geronimo helped lead me into competitive shooting and latter into the firearms industry. Part of my decison to join the Army was also rooted in my Scouting experience. Earning my Eagle Scout badge has been one of those accomplishments that has opened doors for me though out life as well as playing a positive part in my sentencing with my recent troubles with the ATF. The Boy Scouts of America recently turned 100. This was celebrated at their National Jamboree (only held every 4 years). Until this year, every US President has proudly attended this event. President Obama will not be attending, he will be taping his appearance on "The View" instead. He's sending a video taped message to the boys who will by and large make up a good portion of our future leaders/protectors. The BSA is showing class and playing this off in as positive light as they can, but I hope those boys realize they've been slighted and remember it. I understand he's a busy guy and I understand he's trying to run the country, but come on.,.. He couldn't make it for the unknown Soldier and now this. I just can't help but feel he doesn't give a shit about being an "American" and can't be bothered with some of our arcane old school American traditions. How broken is he going to make this country's soul before he hands it off to someone else? Fuck.... |

The far left has slighted far more people than the BSA, this is just one more to add to the list. In their minds they're better than us, smarter than us, and we should all just STFU and let them fix the country and take care of us. That little bit of medicine isn't going down very smoothly. American's don't like that, we react badly to having shit shoved down our throats. Even when it's in our own best interest (which this isn't and we know it), we still don't like it. The far left has a LOT to learn about America and Americans, things they don't teach at Yale or Harvard. That lesson is coming, and they're not going to be too happy when it's delivered. But it won't change their view that they know better and the rest of us are all just a bunch of morons occupying flyover country. |

Quoted: The guy represents and embodies everything that is wrong with the country. I think BSA got lucky here. The Scouts are better citizens and representatives of America than our poser-in-chief. I feel bad for the Scouts that our president isn't worthy of them. Our president is a disgrace to the office. |

Of course he appeared on The View..they had to meet their quota of idiots.
Next week he will be busy judging American Idol and and practicing for Dancing with the Stars. His partner is Rosie O'Donnell. Michael Moore will provide the You Tube video. Next month he will be touring with Barbara Streisand, Sheryl Crow, & The Dixie Chicks. Cindy Sheehan is selling tickets. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Bush is trying to arrange a hunting expedition with Obama and Cheney. Anyway, you all get the point. He is a very busy man. |
Well, everything is going to be a mute point unless more people get out and vote this year...Obama took a significant number of votes in 2008. As bad as things appear, we have to still believe their are those out there who "still believe" Ever watch MSBC? There appears to be a huge contradiction on their worldly view - point being there is still a following waiting to carry up his banner. We need to make sure everybody gets out and votes in November, we can't let our guard down and assume the perceived pubic opinion will overcome and not be participative in casting a vote. I've been watching the Nevada race and it appears Harry Reid is taking the polls...everybody I've talked to in NV just hates what he stands for, but yet he is still the favored front runner - go figure..
I'm certainly not meaning this message for anybody here on the forum, but I'm sure we all have friends or family members who for whatever reason are okay to sit back on the bleachers and watch the show. Somehow we need to get them down to the field and play ball. |

My Scouts already don't like that asshole, and that's not because of me. They just know a shitbag when they see one. The BSA or the USA does not need that guy. +100 One of the guys in our area that went to National this year asked "Does he (Obama) have to be there? And if so, can he hold the targets for us for riflery?" I bit my tongue and said nothing... |
| Umm the BSA is a conservative organization. It teachs boys to use their heads not the govt to solve their problems. Obama will not say one nice word to anything even related to a conservative. Thats why he went on the view. The BSA is a racist white American organization in his eyes! Sad, but I bet I am dead on here. But hey the View is a cool show! NOT!!!! |
