Anyone here into competitive shooting like IDPA or IPSC? Where do you go? How much does is cost? How skilled are the competitors? I'm looking at getting into some matches for the first time. I live in southern Scottsdale right north of Tempe. |

Umm, I don't know if you know this, but Phoenix is THE MECCA of competitive shooting.
Check out USPSA.org for clubs, and brianenos.com's forum for all the info you need. I'm up in Flag, and we don't even have a USPSA club here, i have to drive to Prescott for a real match, but soon I'm looking to start a club. Please join either USPSA or IDPA and become active, its the most fun you can have with a gun! |

Quoted: I shot IDPA at Caswells every Friday night for about 3 years, until people starting stealing shit from the retail area when backs were turned. Now they no longer host the shoot. So, I think RIO is probably the best bet. -AOS HOw do they set up a IDPA shoot at a static range like Caswell? Just a few small stages? |

| Rio Salado is one of the best practical shooting facilities IN THE WORLD. You can shoot a match almost any Saturday or Sunday, and you will be testing yourself against the very best. It is quite beyond me why anyone would go anywhere else. The only discipline they don;t have at Rio is IDPA... if you really want to do IDPA, then Phoenix Rod & Gun at South Mountain is a good choice. |

One of my dad's friends from work kicks everyone's ass and travels all over competing. If I remember, this guy once took 2nd place overall at rifle/shotgun with an SKS. |

He obviously hasn't competed with me yet. |

The man's name is Kelly Neal. He and his wife post a lot of instructional videos on Youtube, many of which I've found helpful. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/user/delianeal |
