McCain Gun Show Ban

–– McCain amendment to the gun liability bill
03/02/2004
Senate Roll Call No. 25
108th Congress, 2nd Session

Senator John McCain (R-AZ) offered a gun show amendment (to S. 1805) on March 2, 2004. His language would outlaw the private sale of firearms at gun shows, unless the buyer agrees to submit to a background registration check. Also, it could effectively eliminate gun shows because every member of an organization sponsoring a gun show could be imprisoned if the organization fails to notify each and every "person who attends the special firearms event of the requirements [under the Brady Law]." Thus, if the person responsible for handing out "Brady pamphlets" took a break to go to the bathroom, everyone responsible for the event could be sent to prison. The McCain amendment passed the Senate by a vote of 53-47.

How about this.  He praised Obama up one side and down the other before and during the campaign, now in his new radio ads he presents himself as the only person who can stop him.  A one man, Obama fighting machine.  Doesn't that bother you?  It annoys the living crap out of me.
How about the "I get it now!" remarks about immigration reform.  Fact is, he still does NOT get it despite having it shouted at him from one corner of the state to the other.  That bother you?  It sure pisses me off.
How about his attempts to close the "gun show loophole".  That bother you?  I bet you probably know what I think about it.
How about his remarks about how Americans can't pick fruit in the hot sun?  Bother you much?  Guess how I feel about it?
How about McCain Feingold?
How about cozying up to Kennedy and Clinton over global warming?
How about the "Terrorist bill of rights?".
Doesn't ANY of that piss you off?

Within a year after the "Manchurian Candidate" returned from captivity in Viet Nam, his faithful wife was in a horrific accident. She was disfigured and crippled. 1 year after the accident he dumped her to marry millionaire Cindy. Says a lot about his character, or lack thereof.

If you think Mc Cain was spared from the mind control and programming by his red captors, you're wrong.

The man was beaten over and over and had bones broken and both shoulders broken and damaged.  I doubt they did that just to fool us.   And as far as his personal life is concerned, he's a paragon of virtue compared to most of the rest of the Senate.

For God's sakes man, you've got me defending McCain, something I didn't know was possible.  But attacking his service and his personal life is out of bounds IMO.

Take the tin foil hat off, it says more about you than McCain.

His personal life becomes very interesting if you research the people who brought him to AZ in the first place.

i am not defending him or have a reason to defend him, just i haven't paid attention to a lot of stuff over the years and haven't been up on it - figured i need to get educated since i believe his seat is up for grabs this year and need to learn about the others.  please, keep the info coming, i appreciate it greatly.

Oh for fucks sakes.  I give up, I just want him out of office.  But I still think attacking his service, his personal life and his family is low class horseshit and says more about the attacker than it does about the person being attacked.  Let's stick to the issues at hand and leave the tin foil conspiracies for the troofers.

I'd have a shred of respect for the slimey old fuck if he didn't try to sell himself as a CONSERVATIVE.

His recent radio ads are appalling.

I hate the way he snuggles up to democrats any chance he gets. His one man campaign against earmarks annoys the shit out of me. IF you don't like them, make a law don't boycott. AZ gets NOTHING back on the taxes we pay because of his dopey maverick act. We get plenty of illegals because he is against managing the border. I wonder how much his wife makes from illegals in beer sales each year??????

By the way, family is fair game when they start making pro-gay marriage ads on TV. Now wife and daughter are public figures of their own accord.

Forget the past ,he is put of touch with the Conservative wing of the Republican party and the people of Arizona today. This makes him useless to the party and the people of AZ here and now . He must go ,and we need a real CONSERVATIVE .THE REST IS ALL BULLSHIT .

IMHO, he ran a wimpy and overly passive presidential campaign which was his for the winning. He refused to expose Barry for the Marxist he is, and kept Palin on too short a leash. McCain should have let Palin attack.

Now he's talking about Obama's extreme left wing and dangerous agenda. WTF? Where was this 18 months ago?

BTW: I believe Palin will be hurt by campaigning for him. She must feel indebted for him having put her on the national stage.

I don't care for politicians or the 54% of the population that support Obama. What do Liberals and Terrorists have in common? They both want to destroy our Country and everything it stands for. At some point Americans who believe in the Constitution and the Values our County was founded on are going to have to take a stand and take back our Country.

He really seems to be out of touch with the Arizona that I love.  I dont see him working on state issues near enough, and his record of attendance sucks ass.  I want representation that will fucking show up and represent.  His views on illegal immigration, the Second Amendment and his lack of dedication to Arizona are enough for me to want his ass out.

Im not too fond of Kyl either.  I want Arizona Conservatives in office, and they aint them.

Campaign Finance Reform laws, that slap in the face to the 1st amendment, which is squarely aimed at political speech

That's all it took for me.  He's violated both oaths he's taken.

He talks a good game when election time comes around but he supports bipartisan (letting the left have their way) when his job is on the line and nobody is looking.

He supports amnesty.

His only accurate claim is he rejects pork spending but it passes anyway and he does nothign to correct the path that leads us to such bullshit.

He is not conservative and will only pretend to be when you are looking.

I really got sick of his gun show loop hole crap, amnesty and campaign finance reform junk!  I was also blown away by his global warming stance during the presidential election.  He reaches across the isle so far he falls over into the other guys corner.  He really shoots to the right around campaign time and puts on a good show for a while.  I will never vote for McCain again.

It was funny though, because at the last gun show I went to, McCain had a booth set up with a life size cardboard cut out of himself.  The guy working the booth looked really bored and lonely.  I watched it for quite a while and never saw one person go up to it.

Yup, as opposed to the Deakin booth where the guy is actually standing there in person to talk to you
McCain can't be bothered to do that.
