I'm a little fuzzy on this. I usually carry open, as I don't have a CCW. Someone asked me lately if you can open carry into a restaurant that serves alcohol.
thanks |

In my experience it is best to not ask others on here questions pertaining to Arizona laws. Most of the time they "think" or "have heard". Most will not post the actual statute. Besides, if you ever here something is not unlawful and one day you get contacted by LEO, what will be your defense? "Oh I heard it on the internet"
Here is the Statute the above poster was referring to: http://www.azleg.state.az.us/ars/13/03102.htm More information can be found here: http://www.azleg.state.az.us/ArizonaRevisedStatutes.asp Of course, people here are only trying to help, but sometimes misinformation is handed out like gospel and often lead people down the wrong path. YMMV |

So, Rifleguy...are you saying I am incorrect?
He asked if he could open carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol. The answer is no, you cannot open carry, even if you had a CCW and the restaurant allowed carry per ARS 4-229. So, in addition to 13-3102, he'd be violating ARS 4-244. Since he has no permit, he can't be violating 13-3112 or 4-229 Violating 13-3102 (A1) is a Class 1 Misdemeanor Violating ARS-244 is a Class 3 Misdemeanor |

I posted the link to the original ARS that you mentioned in your post. My reply was not directed towards you, just the internet in general. What I try to do is direct people to the appropriate resource to look for the answer themselves. To the OP get a CCW

Rifleguy
OK, sorry for misinterpreting it. I've nearly given up on providing links because nobody seems to read them as I've had folks come back and ask more questions instead of reading what had been given them. I'm almost as the point where I won't bother anymore. |

Sure, do you need some butter?
Guess I take this "internet law" interpertation stuff too seriously. After all, the internet is serious business ![]() I cruise around a lot of hunting sites 'cause that's my main interest. Let me tell you somethin, man, hunting sites may be the worst case of internet bullshit I've ever seen. There are guys on there who've never (or hardly) been in the field trying to tell some new guy what to do, and of course it's all just crap they heard from someone else. The worst part about trying to tell one of these yahoos that they're wrong is that about 5 or 6 posts in you realize that you're arguing with someone on the internet, and usually that makes me want to cry. Sometimes I just want to throw in the towel and say "To Hell with you all!" but then I come back to HTF for a bit and my faith in humanity gets (partly) restored.
