If money was no object, (wouldn't that be nice!) what safe company makes the most secure gun safe on the market?
I've been looking at Liberty, Summit, Browning, etc. Any recommendations?

If money was no object

If money were no object, you'd be looking into getting an actual safe rather than a "gun safe". Something where the weight is comprised of thick wall and door materials rather than a flimsy shell and "fire resistant" materials. You won't generally find the wife approved automotive finish and dorky decals on a real safe either.

The other option would be to build a reinforced structure with a vault door.

Better yet buy a failed vacant Bank location . it has a real vault and is going to be secure . what with comercial real estate values you should get a very nice deal .and have lots of parking for your guests .

Here's my philosophy: Don't buy a shiny laquered Hunter green "name brand" safe with the gold package to prominently display in your living room and show off to your neighbors and friends. Save your money, be discreet, buy what WORKS and is the best value for your hard earned $$. Here it is:

www.sturdysafe.com

I talked with the owner at length. Guy has built, repaired, installed safes for years and years. Absolutely know his safe shit. Don't waste your money on glitz. Buy a Sturdy safe, HIDE IT in your home, fill it with guns with the money you saved and tell NO ONE that you have one. HTH, H.

I really like my AMSEC. I Have had it about 3 years now.  I have the BF6040, It doesn't look like they make the 6040 (60" tall x 40" wide) anymore.

I would look for a used safe to save a few bucks.  i bought mine used for $1000 and I think mine was about 3k new.

I have an Amsec and am very satisfied.  I believe that Ft. Knox is considered the best-of-breed, however, with a price to match.

Graffunder "F Rate" hands down. It will kick the pants off anything on the market thats a manufactered gun safe.

That Graffunder looks pretty impressive.  I think Fort Knox builds a pretty tough safe and there are local dealers in the Phoenix area.

The biggest baddest Fort Knox safe is not built with as thick materials in the lightest Graffunder Build. The "F" Rate is a 1" thick A36 steel wall, with a 1.5" thick A36 steel door. The top 1/2 of the door face is a 1/2" thick piece of Maganese. The safe has 1.5" of concrete mixed with vermiculite in the walls for fire, and it has an inner 16ga steel liner. They have torch and cut activated relockers, a 21lb lock mechanism surround made of 1" A36 steel, a ball bearing hardplate, and a hand made .025" or less door gap all the way around the door on the safe.

A 7251 Fort Knox Legend weighs 2,150Lbs. (even a "B" rate Graffunder 7248 weighs in at 2,340Lbs.)

A "F" rate 7248 Graffunder weighs 5,400Lbs.

Fort Knox does not build anything even remotely close to as secure or protected as a Graffunder.

I have a Diebold and am certain I am very safe with it . Sides are two inches thick and the door is three inches. Got it for the cost of hauling it off as it is close to 6,000 pounds and only one company is equipped to move them in town. Also has a 3" bolt attached to a steel frame underneath and two yards of concrete, it's going nowhere.

Look around as there are places that have big heavy safes they want to get rid of and sometimes they will let you haul it off as they don't want to deal with it. Had the option at the same time for a even bigger safe that would withstand hell and weighed twice as much but it was way too much money to move it.

Actually tried to buy a bank and live in but the city wouldn't allow me to zone it residential.

American Security or AMSEC is the best in the business, they actually fill the walls of the safe with a fire resistant concrete and leave no voids in the walls. Many other safes use sheet rock as a fire resistant feature. I have 3 AMSEC safes and would not buy another brand after looking at all of them and doing extensive research.

I picked one up last year for almost half retail at Shooters World they were having an end of year sale. Its become the NFA safe as those guns have over run my collection.

If I was buying the best gun safe money could buy, it definitely would not be an amsec.
