Quoted: I'll make the rounds between Sierra Vista and Bisbee for you and alert the B P. ... Ha, good luck with that An hour after it was stolen, it was rolling across the border at Nogales unimpeded. By time Minuteman_of_1 woke up from his slumber, the thieve was on his fourth tequila, celebrating his new catch |
| LOL, well, even through all of this I have to maintain some sence of humor about it all. I noticed it gone at 0300 this morning, so my first calls, in this order were to Pima Sheriff, Tucson BP, CAG BP, Nogales Port of entry, DPS, THEN my insurance company. Hopefully my truck wasn't gone too long when I noticed it. The irony of it all is that with that truck in my off road adventures, I've located MANY illegals and drug runners and had them caught, now it's probably overloaded with drugs. I also make it a habit of ONLY putting gas in it when I drive it, meaning I had left it with only about 1/8 of a tank. So who ever got it HAD to get gas pretty quick. |

A co-worker had his Dodge stolen while it was parked in front of the glass doors of our work building. They found it a week after the insurance paid out, the truck was thrashed and stripped.
Malls, big box stores such as wally world, costco, sams, and movie theaters tend to be hit the hardest. Think about it, Tucson has a ton of dodge trucks. If there are ten in any given parking lot and eight have the club on them, guess which ones will get stolen????? |

It probably comes down to what trucks have a chip that interfaces/kills the computer. The older trucks do not have this. Dodge was one of the last ones to change, I bet. My '05 doesn't have it, but my '08 does. Ford went to the chip in approx 2000. They were stealing Ford 3/4 and 1 tons because they didn't have the chip.
They tend to steal 4x4s because of the rough smuggling roads. They gut the trucks/vehicles so they can stack more illegals inside. |

What part of town? North West... La Cholla and Orange Grove that really sucks about your truck man, from your location they prob just got on the ten and headed south. i hope it's recovered, but like the consensus says it's more than likely in the interior of mexico. |

A couple guys I work with have had their Dodge trucks stolen, and both were found. DPS and BP todl them that the Dodge Rams are the preferred smuggler-mobile. They drive them until they are thrashed. One friend was lucky and the thief got the truck stuck in a wash near the border before they could do much damage to it. Still had to replace the interior, though. Or to phrase it properly, *put* an interior back in it. |

Hopefully the MahHeeCann Policia won't find it stuffed full of headless, arm & legless bodies like that stolen (out of AZ) Chevy Suburban a short while back. I've ridden in that Tahoe! The guy that owned it became a citizen about 3 weeks after they found it. Freaky |

Unfortunately, no. What's the link? I get routed to the general forum but nothing specific.... |
