Here's a quote and the scene from a recent movie. What's the movie? One of my favorites in recent history. What are some other good movie quotes? Mr. Rate: "Whoever took that shot's probably dead now. That's how a conspiracy works. Them boys on the Grassy Knoll they were dead within three hours, buried in the damned desert, unmarked graves out past Terlingua." http://members.cox.net/jwright17/Mr_Rate2.jpg "How do you know that?" "Hell boy, I still have the shovel!!" Oh that was too funny. Great movie except for Walburg friggen working the bolt carrier group on the M82A1 during the beginning part of the movie!!

JAM-O-MATIC should be its official name. |

JAM-O-MATIC should be its official name. It was that way until after about 300 rounds or so. Well thats the way mine was. After about 280-300 rounds, it seemed to smooth itself out. If you listen to the movie when he's working the BCG, is it me or does it sound dry as the Agua Fria river??? Perhaps that was the reason for hand-cycling the action?? |

OK guys, here's an easy one......and a hard one (although if you don't know it you should turn in your Man Card at the nearest collection center) First, the easy: "Strength and Honor" And for bragging rights: "Sort of balances me out" Come on Arizona Arfcomers, show me what you've got! Bear |

"When you've got to shoot, shoot. Don't talk." Hint: from a westren That's from one of my favorite westerns... The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.Seen it at least 2 dozen times. Several good lines in there, and of course one of the most famous soundtracks ever. Tuco (reading from a note): "See you soon, idi... idi..." Blondie (grabs note): "...Idiots. It's for you." Blondie (holding Tuco at gunpoint after Tuco gets out of the bath): "Put your gun down and pants up." Tuco (after they work out a plan): "I'll get dressed, kill him, and be right back." |

I knew somebody here has also seen that movie as much as I have. Hope you have purchased the "special" edition that came out in 2005 /2006 with newly dubbed scenes that never made it into the American version. Sure their voices have changed, but it's cool to see the version Leone preferred. Good, bad, Ugly is one of the few movies that feels epic in scope and size. Another favorite quote: "Yes, yes. Music is very good for the digestion ... So how's your digestion now?" |

I'm so into those old spaghetti westerns that I've been working on convincing my wife we need to take a vacation to Spain just to visit some of the filming locations. I'd love to go see the place where they blew up that bridge in GBU. I understand it was an insane amount of blackpowder. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall the production notes from the DVD said something like 6 *tons* were used. Quite possible the most used in any single movie explosion. "I'll rest easy knowing I have good friends like you around." And that scene when Tuco thinks it's confederate troops riding towards them until the officer slaps the dust off his sleeve to reveal blue? Classic stuff. Yeah, it's certainly an epic. I also like Leone's "Once Upon a Time in the West" from a purely film school geek perspective. Each primary character has his own music. Henry Fonda as a cold-blooded woman and child killer, Bronson as a good guy... really turning things upside down. |

"I got lucky with the order, but then I've always been lucky when it comes to killing." Unforgiven? Quoted:
"I killed some folks quite a while back. They said I wadn't right in the head, so they put me there in the nervous hospital instead of puttin' me in jail. Mmm huh." Hint - You HAVE lusted after his ex-wife. Sling Blade. |

Heres a few from one of the best movies ever:
"Yo Homie, is that my briefcase?" "What do you care? Have you ever heard of Rwanda? Well, tens of thousands killed before sundown. Nobody's killed people that fast since Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Did you bat an eye, Max? Did you join Amnesty International, Oxfam, Save the Whales, Greenpeace, or something? No. I off one fat Angelino and you throw a hissy fit. " " What? I should only kill people after I get to know them?" "Six billion people on the planet, you're getting bent out of shape cause of one fat guy." I heart this movie

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall the production notes from the DVD said something like 6 *tons* were used. Quite possible the most used in any single movie explosion. They actually blew up two bridges. The first was blown up before film was rolling - Leone went nuts, the army felt terrible for hitting the switch too early. The Spanish army rebuilt the whole bridge (that's why it looks so new in some scenes) and blew it up again for Leone. If you have the DVD you should see some of the extras. Some cool nuggets of info there. The western channel was showing the full length and redubbed version about a year ago and also showed the extras. Very informative. I am not a huge fan of westerns per se, but Leone's use of the civil war as a backdrop and his strong main characters, make for a film that immerses you into the era and his vision. You are left wondering if Tuco is really bad, or just true to his bandit nature -is he the loyal sidekick which he is for the most part or just motivated by greed? He is the only main character that laughs, is playful, and seems to enjoy life. Is blondie really a good guy, he did leave Tuco to die in the desert, and yet kept his word about splitting the money -some sort of oath between bandits. Angel eyes is the only one dimensional character, being cold, harsh and generally evil. Another great scene "You were lucky I was there...when it happened." Tries to kill him, then passes it off as if that was perfectly fair play -which it was. I'm popping the DVD in and watching it again... |
