| Can someone give me some information about hunting coyotes in the northern half of the state? I live in Prescott. Can I hunt with a varmit tag? Can I get paid by ranchers to do it? How do I contact said ranchers with my services? Any suggestions. Pretty much rookie here so any advice would be appreciated! |

To touch on your original questions, as stated above, you just need a hunting license, but be aware that certain predators have certain seasons - coyotes are year round, but bobcats, badgers, foxes, and a few others are only open from August through March. No one will likely pay you $$, but there are other ways of getting compensated - a rancher I hunt for gave me some beef last year, another lets me hunt quail on his land, and I'm the only guy allowed to do that. It's not always easy to get access to ranch land unless you now someone who knows them, and usually ranchers want someone who is accomplished and knows a little bit about the task at hand. Get some experience under your belt, then head out and hit up the private land owners.
