Does anyone know for a fact what Phoenix Police officers are carrying in their Glock 22 handguns?

Firsthand knowledge would be preferred.....

Thanks ahead of time

I don't know about the Glocks but a friend of mine, who works for the MCSO carries Gold Dot in his side arm.  He said it is department approved and everyone carries it in their guns.  I would assume the same for the PD.

Just got off the phone with a friend who is close with a Phoenix Detective, he asked the detective and he said Federal 155 gr Classic with a nickel plated case instead of brass, however they just started issuing new ammo but he hasn't got it yet.  Maybe the "new ammo" is the Gold-Dots?

It's whatever the city can buy in bulk for the cheapest.  We qualify using last years duty ammo and then get issued new duty ammo for the coming year.  They don't buy based on performance, it's based on price and availability. They always seem to have a problem getting .45 ACP, sometimes we qualify on ball ammo and then when they finally do get more duty .45 they put out a memo so people can go down and pick it up if they have a POW .45 for duty.

I can't beleive preformance is not the decideing factor over price, there is something wrong with that policy . as it is there is going to be pleanty of money from the photo radar tickets, and I heard from a very reliable sorce Glendale PD was told to write as many tickets as possible because they need the revenue .
