Anyone in the East Valley have a live catch trap big enough for a cat? The last week or two a male cat has been going through the doggy door intothe garage and spraying. Need to catch it and relocate it. Wife says I has to be without harm to the cat! Any ideas?

Sorry I can't be of any help, but you just reminded me of something I used to do some years ago and  I had this pic on file.  I caught a total of 5 within 4 months or so, using mostly sardines. While they're in there, they are very, very angry.

I usually trap them with a 40 grain subsonic trap If you trap them near the ear they are no longer angry and can be relocated with ease.

I think the pound will let you borrow one . and than the cat would be put up for adoption .

I used Tuna in a sock to bait em... it's good for catching one, but if you need to "send a message" to the rest of em hanging around... Reverse snare system tied to the trap, rigged with bungi cords and rope that strings across the pool. Click, Snap, Splash...

jk jk

Seriously though, you can rent a trap from the city for a couple bucks.

OH! and a word to the wise, watch your ass during transport. The cat we caught was rabid or feral or w/e you call it where there hair is coming off and it's got that super angry disposition... yea, it did everything in his power to try and take me out, including but not limited to ramming the steel trap door with his skull... Animal control people kept asking "Did it slash or bite you at anytime" .. lol ..

I got a free trap from the humane society.  Every couple of days, I'd take them a full burlap bag (full of cat), and they'd give me an empty one.  Gave the trap back when I ran out of cat.

Thanks for all of the info. Glade to see I am not the only one who doesn't like stray cats!

Once they start spraying, they don't stop.....even after getting cut. BUT, I doubt the little bugger would be back after that ordeal....

Can't stand cat shit in my yard.  I have a trap, but they do not go to the pound.

Take them to the desert and they can  be coyote bait.     Or fast moving targets.
