| does anyone in here know of a good place that has decent prices and varities on 1911's. I want to get one for my dad but don't want to spend a fortune. Looking in the tucson or phoenix areas. Thanks |
| There's been quite a bit of talk about the Tarus (sp?) 1911 that came out last year. They're running around $500 or so. Check out Murphy's on Country Club just north of Fort Lowell since they've got two cabinets just for 1911's!! At lest it'll give you a good idea of what's out there. Then come back here or to the AZS forum and see if anyone's got one for sale there. |

Bear Arms is a good place to start. New and used, with prices on the new being a little high, and used pretty representative of market value. They usually have a few new Colts. Scottsdale Gun Club has Sig, Kimber, Smith, Springfield, Wilson, Nighthawk. No Colt. Very few used. Prices for the new on the high side. Their website is pretty current on what they haveSGCin stock. |

Earlier this year I was looking for my 1st 1911... after deciding on the one I wanted I started calling around to just about EVERY gun store in the valley and in Tucson. It ranged in price from $1180 - $1450 + tax (Springfield MC Operator.) I found a dealer in Florida that had it new and shipped it to my FFL for $975 and my FFL charged me $25... so $1000 out the door and no tax... Look around, call around and then go looking on-line, you can usually find good deals if you look. |
