Call me paranoid, but it seems like every other week I see stories like these all over the headlines: www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,315245,00.html www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,315342,00.html Sad, to be sure. But I imagine the general population will only react to this one way... I'm tired of seeing these headlines. A bazillion crimes are commited each day but only a percentage involve guns. Bet the public never gets that info. Bah!!! Everyone on my Christmas list is getting Pez this year so I can buy more guns and ammo before its too late. |

The sad part is that media only plays into this crap and almost makes these guys seem famous. It's sadistic if you ask me. And what about CCW?? I wonder how many people in that mall were carrying? I know several malls that have signs stating no weapons on a couple doors, but I still carry. My though process states that: A) Mall security is shit. Look at the shooting that happened at Dillards a couple months back. Mall security was going the wrong way (away from shooting) which makes you realize that you and you alone are responsible for your own safety. B) The signs are printed in very small print with a clear background on some doors. Not every one has it and I figure they don't really care/ want the liability to enforce it. Concealed carry is exactly that, concealed. Furthermore, I have just learned to go into the doors which I know do not have any signs posted and therefore can claim plausible deniability. That is IF they figure out that I'm carrying and that's a slim to none chance. C) Too many people give up their right to protect themselves so companies can put unarmed security guards (not officers) in their mall thus giving retarded americans the false sense of security feeling. Bullshit, I take my safety seriously. It took the cops over 6 minutes to get to the mall shooting. I guarantee if I was in that mall it would've taken me 1 minute to respond. Am I an officer, not currently, but like the sayin' goes, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". I know that there are many, many more people here who share that same feeling. ![]() *Note: We should develop a quote so in the event of a critical incident and the local PD guys haven't arrived, we can yell it out and alert other potential civilian first responders that are also ARFcommers know to squad up and do what needs to be done. Any takers on ideas?? I agree Tucan that this is beginning to be more and more the trend with today's society. Is it the guns fault? Hell no. Where's the fault rest?? How about environmental conditioning, lack of respect instilled by parents, lack of parents attentiveness to their kids, and well this list could go on and on. M'kay I'm going to get off my before I blow a headgasket. Ya'll stay safe and take care. |

Just trying to express my frustration over all the coverage this stuff always gets. I mean, OK, it *is* news, and it *is* horrific and sad, but it seems like every time I fire up a news site to catch headlines, there's a shooting to report. And I know Joe and Jane Citizen are sitting at home watching the news over dinner talking about how bad it all sucks. And when some leftist pitches gun control the uneducated masses buy into it hook, line, and sinker. Sucks for us. Just trying to vent. Tired of seeing stories like these all over the place. Gotta go buy more guns now for my son. Gonna be a whole different world when he's old enough to buy his own. If he can. |
