Hey, where the hell is your thread on building your ride?  I am thinking of an Indian kit to build for myself (if I get this settlement), and I wanted to review you DIY (or, as I like to call it, DYI:  Do Yourself In ) thread of your trike build.

Of course, you know if you reply here I'll be bugging you with questions, but I'll make it worth your while.

... I think my ARFCOM chopper build chronology-thread is long gone. I'll try to post a .pdf file of the process though. Don't have time now, we're heading off for a hike.
Not sure I can get to it this week either, I'll be in New England and Seattle most of this coming week

... I would say, that a DYI build like this is very rewarding. It's pretty cool to be out somewhere with fellow bikers and someone asks "who built your bike" and you can say "myself". I was fortunate though, I have a good friend that is a motorcycle mechanic that helped me considerably through some of the tougher aspects.

Hey man, take your time.  I ain't going to bust your balls for doing me a favor!  I just wanted to read it all the way through, which would probably answer 90% of my questions and give me an idea of financial and time output, and then I would not waste your time asking questions you've already answered with a little reading.

I am no mechanic, though I am very mechanically-inclined.  If it can be taken apart and put together, I've probably wrenched, welded, grinded, or otherwise torched it; if not wired it, plumbed it, nailed it, assembled it, troubleshot it, diagnosed it, advised about it, bid it, designed it, or started it over again for myself or another.

But building a trike just inflates my nads.  I'll have plenty of room in my new garage, and there isn't much in the way of tools I don't own.

But always better to have the reference material in front of you than to go off half-cocked, ya know?

Hey Richard. I have a 72" sportster that I have to put back together. If you want to get together and finger it out might be good experience before you take the leap. Only problem is I am in Tucson. just my .02

Aw, man, what is it with you Tucson dwellers?  I'd friggen LOVE to get together and do some wrenching and learn some things, but Tucson is a ways away and near impossible for me to get to unless we did a Wednesday/Thursday so I could overnight it.

Can you possibly do a Wed/Thu?  I'll bring the beer and the Subway sandwiches!

Might be able to work that. I got most of my parts getting sand blasted and then to powder coating. Will will get with you when its all ready and we can work something out.

SWEET!  I'm all over that.

What's two days worth of trike work equate to?  Maybe the engine build and installation?  Make sure you let me know any tools I should bring, too.  I can easily ratchet down my rolling boxes so I have just about everything, but aside from ratchets, sockets, wrenches, and the typical driver combinations, I have no idea what might be needed.

I don't own Snap-on or anything, so if you are particular about what tools touch your build I may need to borrow yours.  But I've used mine from everything to engine rebuilds to frame work, and I've yet to mess anything up (that I couldn't fix, anyway).

Dude, let me know!  I'm amped about this.  A little music, tools clanging on the tray, a new friend, some cold beer...  Shit, ALMOST better than a day shooting!   We'll have to make some time for that too, of course!
