I received my CCW in the mail today, just two weeks after I mailed in the application and print card. This is my first CCW not a renewal and I was told it would take 60 days. I’m surprised they can do the print and background check that fast. -  w00t!

DPS has a revamped CCW unit.  The Permits are going to change too!

The new permits have "enhanced security features" and are "more durable than the original style".

The CWP coodinators are both former firearms instructors.

Yep, I got the new and improved card complete with a hologram type imprint.
Damn good service for a government agency!

Received ours today. About 10 days for renewal. The new card looks good also. i think a lot of folks are waiting for Sept. 21. That might explain the fast turnaround.

Didn’t you get the memo?
After the 21st you don’t need a CCW to carry concealed anywhere in the state including bars and court houses!!

After the 21st there is no requirement to take a class for CCW renewal just send in the paperwork and $ to renew.
