I am going camping up at Bushnell tanks this weekend. Is it still legal to shoot there? Has anyone been there lately. How is the camping? I was there about 11 years ago. Any info would be helpful. Thanks. Milhouse |

Take 87 towards payson. About 40 miles outside of Mesa, you will come up on a turnoff for a general store that never seems to be open. Just past it, about 1/4 mile, is the turn-off for bushnell. Great place for riding and shooting. If you take some bikes up there to ride, then head past the streams to a large open area. From there you can follow any number of trails to abandoned mines and such. If you feel like a long off-road trip, one of the trails will dump you out at Roosevelt Lake. Scott |
| Was up there 4 years ago bear hunting and about 2 o'clock in the morning some aholes were driving up and down the road shooting out their car window. Scared the hell out of us. We were sleeping on cots in the open about 30 yards off the road along the creek. Haven't camped in the area since. Its a beautiful area. |
| Up until a couple of years ago I used to go there alot. It was my favorite hide away. Same thing happened to me. In the early morning I heard cars and then shooting. The neck hair went up and so did the shotgun and 357. A carload of gangbangers came up for some R&R i guess. I also had an HK-91 so I bump fired a mag and they went some where else. I was by myself which I will never do again. Damn the gangers!!! |
