It's completely up to each of you to decide whether you wish to support our playground.  "Is there a reason left?"--dunno, that's for you to decide.  I sent my hundred bucks, and to keep GoatBoy from beating me, put it on my wife's account, even though she almost never posts.

It is appreciated greatly should you wish to do so--the place simply would not exist without said donations, and no one makes a nickel.  Every single nickel is used for the site.

Is it really that important to you?

Some Staff here have obviously decided the use of one word is truly important to them.

Is paying $$ to walk on eggshells around them important to you?

This site has a lot to offer. It also has a lot of problems. You sort of gotta take the good with the bad I suppose.

I paid up and got my little star for two reasons:
1) There are a LOT of good people, especially in the AZ/NM hometown. Many of them have lent a helping hand or given things I have needed and they had extra of, all asking nothing in return. I felt good supporting the board because it indirectly helps those good guys.
2) I like having my silly avatar pic. It gives me an identifiable personality on the board. Plus the sig line option is a nice option.

BUT...This overly sensitve concern over being ultra liberal PC in all doings is borderline bullshit and is making me seriously look at this board. I asked why we had an offensive word that we are not allowed to use tacked at the top of our forum. Seemed counterproductive and idiotic to me. I was ignored. I am not a trouble maker so my thoughts are not important even though I agreed that we are guests in anothers house and the rules are the rules. When we are forced to comply with iron fisted rule, yet a voice of reason is ignored I question the people in charge. I hope that we get some answers and maybe even an apology, but I won't hold my breath.

They crush the dissenters, and ignore the compliant. Thats how the Nazi's did it too, right?

The thread was not tacked my Ed Sr. or Staff--that I know of.  I did not tack it--I do know that.

I also did not notice your question.  If you have a specific question it is always best to ask it directly via IM--those are virtually always answered by me.

We have no desire to be "ultra liberal PC in all doings'--a bit of an overstatement, IMO--we only desire to look out for everyone's interests by having a modest list of "don't's" via the Conduct Code, and enforcing it as fairly as humanly possible.  This doesn't seem unreasonable to me:

The thread which started all this made NO mention of illegals, criminals, sounds or flashlights--it was directed squarely at pregnant Hispanic-looking women and their men, not all of whom are criminals or illegals.  There is NO WAY azexarms could have determined the immigration status of the women he observed while driving down a strange street in a new (unknown) neighborhood.  If he can, he has talents which could be useful in the US Immigration Service.

Not a problem.  I don't know what you're trying to accomplish here, but if the AZ crew is unhappy with the site, and wishes to openly work to undermine the efforts here, it is easy to solve.  One click--poof.

It's above my pay grade to accomplish this, and I am NOT speaking as "Site Staff" when I make the statement--but on a personal basis, if so little gratitude for what is provided here is to be shown, then if it was my call, I would simply zap this forum.  I will encourage this among those who matter, in the same manner you are encouraging others to not support the site.  The savings in bandwidth will be a wash, in all likelihood.

I as a AZ member am happy with the site in general.

What I am unhappy about is how the Non-AZ mods/staff is trying control us, when they don't have the understanding of our language and culture.

I also feel that as a paying member I should have a say as to what is acceptable here  Isn't that what a membership is all about?

I would like to know what Treetop feels about this issue.

Perhaps an explanation is in order--there are no "AZ Staff"--site Staff are site Staff.  We are assigned to specific areas, and work as needed throughout the site.  Mods are forum-specific.  None of this matters, as the Conduct Code applies throughout the site--every forum, every area of the site.  The fact you make a membership donation (or not) does not give you a voice in the rule making.  As a matter of fact, Staff has exactly ZERO input into the rules.  Sr. Staff (Ed Sr., Striker, EricE, Kevin) and GoatBoy make the rules--without input from Staff or Mods.  I expressed "concern" (<-- trying to word this nicely) over a couple of items, offered input, and was (very politely) told to STFU.  The rules are what they are--and we ALL live with/by them.  You gents do not get to make your own for "your" forum.  Slurs will not be posted--doesn't matter which one you choose for today.  Just say "illegal aliens" or whatever.  It's not difficult, hard to comprehend, or anything else.  Bottom line--anyone who simply cannot enjoy their time here without using the various slurs, has either some growing up to do, or has other problems this site is not equipped to deal with.  Don't use slurs--it's easy.  I honestly don't get this whole thing.  We're supposed to be on the same side.

You talk as if we OWE this site our $$! Sheesh!

And then your veiled threats of wanting to "zap" the entire AZ forum because we are discussing the pros and cons of payed membership!??

Damn fucking petty on your part mon. Petty and low-class.

BK1, I'm sure you're a nice guy in real life, but your attitude in this post is not winning over anyone who may be thinking whether they want to pay money for membership - in fact it's having the opposite effect.

If you care about this site and its members, I think you really need to step back and think about what you posted above.  From a PR point of view - it looks a lot worse than any stupid "T-word" posted here.

I suspect that attitude is common amongst several Site Staffers, and I'm not surprised. It used to be Moderators would suggest taking problems/issues up to site staff, ie. if you had a problem with a site function/rule, take it up with staff.

You are staff, and the only thing coming from your virtual mouth is tough shit, you don't like it, leave....

and now, some members are suggesting the very thing, and you're upset about it, and lightly suggesting a conspiracy.....help is only a phone book away my internet buddy.

And while we're on it:

I'm not trying to accomplish anything, other than voicing my opinion.  If that hurts so bad, perhaps you should ask Juan for that long awaited ignore function?

I support your notion of zapping the Az forum, it would let the rest of the membership aware of your heavy hand and ridiculous enforcement that happens on occasion (read: T@NK ISSUE). Maybe if you spent less time banning members, deleting threads and actually communicating amongst yourselves some of the issues would get ironed out?

This is stupid.

So which is it Mike? Not as Site Staff or encouraging as Site Staff?

And, it's not a matter of gratitude..It's saying that (some of) the mods/staff don't seem to care what their member's think or say because "it's their house".. So, we're saying that we would rather spend our money somewhere else and just hang out on the free side. So, if we get locked for some reason, we're not out any money.

This used to be a great board, but the PC crap is ruining it. I'm sure some of us would like to be treated and spoken to with respect rather than the "fuck you" attitude some of the staff and mods have been displaying lately. You know? Kind of like what you displayed above.

Ever go into a restaurant and pay money for food and when it's served it's awful, or not what you were expecting, and the server says "Fuck you, it's our house and if you don't like it leave"? You're not offered a refund, you're just shown the door and locked out...

Kind of disrespectful huh? I think that's what some of us are feeling right now...

It's not a problem following the CoC, but violation punishment needs to be consistant. How many times have you read that "mods/staff are doing it so why can't I" and they're wondering why their thread was locked? I said in another thread that people taking the Lords name in vain was offensive to me and when you look at the CoC, it would seem to be a violation. What did you do? You locked the thread and ignored my statement.

It would be very difficult on some if they were locked because of the friendships they have made here. It's not the content of the board for some of us anymore, it's the comradary (sp) that means something. Some of us have made life long friends and we know that there is a "brotherhood" amongst us. Yes, thanks to AR15.com..There's no denying that.

Consider getting off your throne for a while and see what we see rather than spewing further shitstorms... You KNOW that's what's going to happen with your statement above..

I hope not... But can you smell what the Forum is cooking?

Please look at the big picture--we have a thread asking if the AZ crew is in an "insurrection"--and several posts openly encouraging guys to not renew their memberships.  You owe nothing to this site.  The site owes you (and me) nothing.  The simple fact is, no matter what I have tried to do to deal with this, several here wish to keep stirring it up ("discussing" my ass).  Ironically, azexarms is calm (at least publicly, I haven't communicated with him privately), Steve_ is (hopefully) on his way back--yet we have nasty, bitter posts being made against the site.  I honestly don't understand it.  Your attitude is as though I am the site cheerleader and should kiss ass in order to make everyone's life happy.  I'm just like you here--except I've been asked to "WORK" instead of just play.  Oh, it's work, but as you likely know, it's a non-paying job--same as GoatBoy, Sr. Staff, etc.  Support the site, don't support the site, do what you will--but keep it within the rules.  I'm done arguing about this petty shit--but I will be watching, as requested by EdAvilaSr.  Anything else needed of me--positive or negative--will have to be done via IM.

I wouldn't worry about it--that was just *MY* personal attitude about it.  The existence of the forum is up to you guys--if it's useful to you, it will (without a doubt) be here.  It's purely an Admin function to add/delete forums--I can lock the entire forum, but I can't zap it.  As I said, I'm done with this mess.  If anyone needs me, please tell me where to go via IM--or if I can somehow help someone, I'm always available--and eager to help.

My overall view and thoughts. I can understand why this site is kept clean of hate and race bashing..it's not the American way,and my opinion Gods way .

But.

The blood of patriots flow thru the veins of alot(not all) of the RKBA people. They are strong will'd(sp)and to not take lightly to being told what to think, say and feel regardless of who it's coming from or whos house their in.  There has got to be a happy medium somewhere.

I will re-up for another year and keep working on this site.

EMILIANO ZAPATA
1879 - 1919

Born August 8, 1879, in Anenecuilco, Morelos. Was a mediero (sharecropper) and horse trainer. Conscripted into the army for seven years attaining the rank of sergeant. As president of the village council, he campaigned for the restoration of village lands confiscated by hacendados. His slogan was "Tierra y Libertad." Zapata sided with Madero.

Between 1910 and 1919, Zapata continued his fight for land and liberty, rebelling against anyone who interfered with his Plan of Ayala which called for the seizure of all foreign owned land, all land taken from villages, confiscation of one-third of all land held by "friendly" hacendados and full confiscation of land owned by persons opposed to the Plan of Ayala.

On April 10, 1919, Zapata was tricked into a meeting with one of Carranza's generals who wanted to "switch sides." The meeting was a trap, and Zapata was killed as he arrived at the meeting.

I beg your pardon for sticking my nose in the AZ/NM debacle. I have been following this issue somewhat and am suprised at the law that has been laid down.

Further, I am suprised that tbk1 is so willing to engage in discussing the issue in such depth. It is almost as he is stirring the pot. He was on this thread like a rainbow on an oilslick, unnecessarily, IMO. That said, I've thought him to be balanced in his past duties so I will be watching a little closer as I may be way off base.

IMO, there are way more offensive things said on arfcom than the sound of a flashlight hitting a head.

Is it really that important to you?

Some Staff here have obviously decided the use of one word is truly important to them.

Is paying $$ to walk on eggshells around them important to you?

This site has a lot to offer. It also has a lot of problems. You sort of gotta take the good with the bad I suppose.

You have to walk on egg shells be cause they wont let you say one stupid fucking word??

I never really thought of you as weak OR ignorant.
