I'm an idiot, I waited to long to make up my mind what to get my brother in-law, now I know and it's too late for internet shopping.

Does anybody know a place in the PHX area that sells good semi-customs or high quality production skinner/hunters that isn't going to leave me feeling ripped off knowing that I could have got it for $50 cheaper on the WWW?

I'm looking for something with a fairly standard loveless drop point blade, carbon V or high carbon stainless, attractive (he likes fancy things) but functional (I refuse to buy him a pretty knife that sux)

Something like a one of these Bark River knives maybe.

GRRR, given time I'm could get these for $100, but I know I'll have to pay $150 in a local knife shop.

Barry Dawson is probably staying in Prescott. He could probably overnight a knife to you. You won't be disappointed and his knives hold their value.

Barry likes to use 440C and his blades have legendary toughness.

Crap, I forgot about Bear Arms, I did run out to Legendary Guns, they had a couple of nice looking knives but not what I really wanted.

Those Dawson knives look great, and I'll have to keep in him mind, but I already just called and ordered a Bark River Huntsman, and I'll just have to hope it gets here on time.

Thanks for the ideas guys.

There are some very nice knives there, but most are more collector grade than work knives, and they are all very expensive.

Thank you for the link though, I was going to stop by there today, but I was told they had closed. I guess my brother was wrong.

They did close the shop about a week ago, he does it mostly on the 'net now from his house though.

That seems to be the direction of all the little knife shops here, I miss being able to actually hold a knife before buying it.

I have only bought one knife since many years ago someone broke into my house and stole my Benchmade 9700S. Ernest Emerson CQC7 automatic knife. ATS-34 blade with EE and CQC7 markings on the blade and the regular Benchmade locking and auto systems. The dumb mother fucker who stold it has no idea what he has (but was probably excited about the stereos and tv he got). I have been looking for that exact knife as a replacement for 5 years. I would keep it in the safe this time around. I miss that knife.

Ahhhh. Just pulled out my 970S. Makes me miss the other one that much more. I will never carry this knife again.
