Yes.

They can send you the FFL or not, it's not like you have to keep it.  Might be best to cover your ass though.

There is some question as to whether or not a non-ffl may send a long gun to another non-ffl within the same state......

I've wondered about that, but there does not seem to be a law against it.  If you can find one I'd like to see it - just so I know.  Hasn't been an issue for me yet as the only in-state trades I have done thus far have been for parts.

There should be no question.  The BATF has specifically answered the question.  Intrastate transfers and shipments of firearms are not forbidden by Federal law.  The only restrictions are thoses imposed by the States.

Here is a FAQ from the BATF web site:

(B9) May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by carrier?

A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by carrier to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state. A common or contract carrier must be
used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract
carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm. [18 U. S. C. 922( a)( 2)( A) and 922( e), 27 CFR 478.31]

Please note that the notification part  is not correct.  Notification is only required when shipping to a nonlicensee, such as mentioned in the previous post.
