In the past, I have always done my shooting at a range. However, being the cheap ass that I am, I would like to get out of paying range fees.

I was wondering if some Arizona shooters could tell me what the rules and regulations are for plinking out in open areas??? Does there have to be a backstop that meets some specific requirements, or can I just set up some bottles and cans in the desert and plink away and have it be totally legal (as long as I police up my brass and trash)???

I want to do some shooting out in the desert without getting in trouble. Can someone help me out with what rules I have to follow???

Thanks

There is reddington pass out here in tucson.... 2 main shooting areas... 2 half assed ones.  people treat the area like shit and there is a lot of crap out there...  but that is one option if you want to shoot in the desert.

Reddington pass is NOT desert, it is mountianous, the real desert is to the west of Tucson towards Yuma, the Goldwater range is a great place to shoot !!!
