| Hi guys I live in IL and I am thinking of moving to AZ. I am thinking of Scottsdale or Casa Grand. I was wondering what the gun laws are like out there places to shoot ect. Can someone tell me about these areas and shooting? Thanks Jimmi |

www.packing.org/state/index.jsp/arizona Go there for all the laws. They are pretty easy though. Scottsdale is a nice place, but a bit over-priced. I couldn't be happy in Casa Grande though. A couple of good sized gun ranges and an entire desert to shoot up. I like it here, of course I havn't lived anywhere else either... |

Get your ass out here. Move to the Mesa/Gilbert/Chandler area. You cant go wrong with those cities. Casa Grande is cool, but I think youll soon become sick of seeing illegals everywhere. Hit me up if youve got any questions. Rent is cheap right now and Chandler and Gilbert are growing, growing, growing. What kind of work do you do? |

I moved out here from Wisconsin back in 10/02. You can't beat winters in the 60's. Gun laws? They were an improvement from WI-- they'll sure as hell beat out IL's gun laws! Low taxes, warmer weather... I'd come on down! The Valley (Phoenix and suburbs) is where a lot of the jobs are. What do you do for a living? Casa Grande isn't bad. Paul (azredneck) is the man to ask about Casa. Oh, and get your ccw. If you decide to go with Casa, talk to Paul. If you decide to go with the Valley, give me a holler. We're both licensed ccw instructors. Either way, your fellow AZ arfcommers will be happy to get you set up! If you decide to make the move, WELCOME ABOARD! Mike |

Cool thanks guys for the info. In IL we have a FOID card to own gun what is needed in AZ?? I like the smaller town life. Scottsdale is nice but to busy for me to live. I have 3 little ones and I would like somewhere that has nice schools. I am a heavy equipment mechanic(CATERPILLAR) type stuff. Are jobs good out there? My wife stays home with the kids so I would like to find something where I can afford to keep here there.I am just getting sick of IL and been to AZ to see my Family there but wanted outside family suggestions. Thanks Jimmi |
FOID??! BWAHAHA! You need the cash to afford the gun. We have permits to carry concealed- which also exempt you from background checks. That's it. No FOID, no licensing, no waiting periods. It's cash and carry here, man! Hmm. I'm mechanically declined, so I can't help you there. However, we have a lot of illegals running around who pull down the wages. Better do a salary check to ensure that you don't get screwed..... Mike |
FWIW Jimmi, When I lived in Tucson, Caterpillar had a giant testing facility down near Green Vally, slightly SW of Tucson. The Tucson area is also an awesome area to live (IMHO). There is soo much growth in the State that heavy equipment is used constantly. I also recommend you check out the M.M. Sundt Co. and Ames Const (same same as Sema in other states, just spelled backwards). They both have very large earth moving divisions here in the State. And, there is a large equip dealer at Country Club and I60 in Mesa. Enjoy, and, welcome. Dan |

Well there aren't many small towns left and the ones we do have are growing fast! I recommend checking out the West valley (Goodyear, Suprise, Buckeye)! Smaller, cheaper but still growing and still close to Phoenix! I wouldn't think you would have a problem with finding a job since theres continuous building going on! Anything I can help with feel free to shoot me an IM! AZ |
