Quoted: Nice View Quote It really is like cheating, but the kids get involved and stay involved so it’s worth every penny. Last year in a deer blind they maybe stayed focused for 30min before getting cold and wanting to go in. So far I’ve gotten 2-3hrs out of both of them. 4 and 7 years old. |

Any last minute gun advice?
I’m stuck between my marlin 1895GBL topped with a Leupold 1.5-5 VX3 Or my 450Bm upper topped with a vortex viper PST Gen 1 1-4x. The 450 is also suppressed with a hybrid 46. I’m leaning towards the 1895 because the scope is better / better reticle in dark conditions. It’s going to be cloudy and rainy here all day with a winter storm warning in the afternoon. Both have killed very nice bucks. |
|
I'd probably stick with the better optic.
I'll plan to be out all day Monday and Tuesday if I need to be. Good luck every one |

Freezer is full of a fresh 1/2 beef. Still have another 1/2 at the farm. And 2 pigs, 2 lambs. If something nice (big doe or buck) walks in front of me tomorrow morning, cool. If not... I ain’t freezing. I did that for 7 days in Wyoming earlier this year. Bad weather has followed me in 2020 like the coof. |

This week is going to be a good week with the second part of the rut lining up perfectly with gun season, the winter storm moving in, and the temps going from mild to fridgid. I predict a slaughter will happen. Good luck everyone! |

Anybody whackin and stackin this morning?
Nothing happening in my NW Ohio blind. Rain changed to snow. Heard 1 shot and seen zero deer so far. Things can only improve from here |
|
Shots all around my property this morning, but none for me. Septic guy is here so maybe back out this afternoon.
Safe1's son got a nice buck at the undisclosed location. Safe1 is like Don King. He has the public location that everyone can see and the undisclosed complex where stuff actually happens. |
|
In to get dried off and warmed up. Didn’t see a thing, and didn’t hear a single shot.
Grabbing lunch and headed back out. Good luck all, be safe. |

Well as usual I had 2 does about 200 yeards out.... could have made the shot on calm day but... Snow and 15 -20 mile an hour cross wind.. I would have to aim at the next county to even have chance.

Quoted: Heard several shots in the area between 4:30 and 5pm. I had four come in (looked to be two does and two yearlings). Picked out the biggest one and let the 450 breath some fire. Another one shot kill, with about a 20 yard run. Lungs were mush. Red X was the shot, green X is where she fell. I didn't take the time to get trophy pics because I knew I could get her to the meat market before they closed if I didn't screw around Either way, nice big doe is a good opening day for me. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/84914/PXL_20201130_200622734_2-1708872.jpg https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/84914/PXL_20201130_221713465-1708873.jpg View Quote sweet.. now go find your shoulder after shooting that 450. Welp...
Today sucked. Didn’t see a damned thing. Heard 2 shots around 2, then 4:30 it got some more busy, only 6 more. I’m sure a lot of guys got up, looked outside and said screw it. I need to put more time in on archery. This cold crap sucks. And I really need to find some land with some woods, the field line hunting is too hit/miss. Hoping for better luck Saturday |

Sat is a blind all day watching it rain. Saw 16 total, 4 bucks, two of which were good sized.
Took a 8pt at dusk from 150yds with a 450BM. He has two broken tines on his left side, but I can have those repaired. Shitty pic: Attached File |

I've been told deer will bed down in weather like we had today. |

Quoted: Scored a nice 8-point around 9:30am. I went in the woods late this morning because of the rain, wasn't in there 30 minutes and here he came walking in front of me. I was making my way back to my stand, and was maybe halfway there. The .450BM did great, once again. My second buck, last one was 10 years ago. Stoked, and am excited to get back out tomorrow. https://i.imgur.com/JsG10oT.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ckPXvZQ.jpg View Quote Congratulations! No pictures of the aforementioned .450 BM with your buck? It's very handy, and shoots awesome. Have a Nikon M223 1.5-6x mounted on it. I'll try to dig up a pic of it. ETA: pic of my setup from 2018 season Was raining then too... |

Congratulations to all those who successfully harvested a deer. Good luck to those who are still braving the elements. Hey, you have to get to the heated blind.
Have a safe remaining deer season. We are done since our freezers are full. We're going to "pressure can" some of the meat from yesterday. |

Not a lot of movement this morning. Saw a smaller buck and a small doe/button. Almost shot the latter, but I was hoping something bigger would have followed it in. She/it winded me and took off. It was about 5 yards from my feeder.
Gonna take the tractor back here in a few to fill the feeder and throw a camera up. Hoping this afternoon is more productive. |

I saw six doe and a dozen turkeys this morning. Getting the toes warm and headed back out to see what’s walking around at dusk.
