Looks like I will be working in this area. What's the inside info on it?
Places to eat, stay, places to shoot, etc...... I know my CHL won't work. Can you get one from Ohio? *Well looks like things have changed since I last worked there.* |

Your CHL is good to go now. Just keep in mind you have duty to inform if you are stopped by LE. Lancaster has typical chain places to eat. I don't think there's a good or bad part of town, from what I've seen it's about all the same. Up route 33 a bit towards Columbus is Shade on the Canal and Kingy's Pizza. In Lancaster is a Roosters. Christies Pizza is good as well. For shooting there is Ohio Valley Outdoors. Never been there myself but heard good things |

Have heard the Amish place towards Logan is good as well, Ohio Valley will be the only shop right in Lancaster, a short trip up 33 will get you to the Vances shop/range in Obetz. Quoted:

Not quite Texas BBQ but Millstone is across 33 from Walmart Have heard the Amish place towards Logan is good as well, Ohio Valley will be the only shop right in Lancaster, a short trip up 33 will get you to the Vances shop/range in Obetz. There is another gun shop on High street. Barnes Guns, just looked it up and appears to still be open. I remember driving by it when I was in high school and going to Fisher Catholic for basketball games. No experience at all with them. |

They currently have used Glock 19 mags for $9.99. |

The owner died last fall and they auctioned off everything in December. |

I live near the area.. Ohio Valley has both a gun range and a archery range.. been going for years,, nice people. Food is just the basic stuff as said before, On Friday nights at 7 pm Fairfield outdoors has a 3d archery shoot every week until about spring. Ohio valley has 3d shoot on Saturdays at 6pm both are money shoots... 12 bucks to get in.
you should be ok on your CHL Lots of local mom and pop bars If you venture out hit up Vances outdoors in Hebron. not to far... |

In Lancaster Ohio, all of your wildest dreams will come true. Well not really.
All your standard chain restaurants are here and some local mom/pops as well. Plenty of places to shoot once you get to know people. There are also a couple of gun clubs. Pretty rural with lots of farm land, plus the Ohio Valley range already mentioned. State land not far away too. "Mountains" and caves in the area. Local mall, although it seems to be struggling these days. Good deer hunting in central OH. Look me up when you get here. I've been in the Fairfield County, Lancaster area 40yrs now. One last tip, it is pronounced Langcuster here, not Lan-cast-er. |
