Down there, at Lock 3, a few days ago. Came in from S. Main.
Saw no signs! Went down the stairs. No signs at bottom either.
Walked over where the rest rooms are No sign at the building, That I saw.
Came out my son-in-law pointed out a sign on a pole facing the building.
If there where more signs I did not see them.
How can there be NO carry in an open park. With so few signs?
Any ideas???

good observations, pita45. who the heck knows about the signs and postings. what does one do when there's no signs posted, BUT Park Rules "request" (not demand) "no weapons?" If I were going out to Akron's First Night 2015 festivities, altho they never seem to have problems, I surely would want to "Be Prepared."

here's all I found out about the Park up here in what all my out-of-town friends call "A-kron":

We like to keep things safe and fun. Please do NOT bring:
Alcohol
Pets
Bicycles
Skateboards
Glass Bottles
Weapons
Tents or patio umbrellas

I don't remember where, but I've seen the signs. I just don't have any need to be down there, so I don't patronize anything in Lock 3

Concealed means concealed

I doubt you'd ever meet much resistance from APD as long as you're not a mope and not up to no good.

It was family night out! Grandma and me went with the kids and our grand-son out to see the Christmas lights.
We end up at Lock-3! Not my idea! My daughter took the grand-son on a train ride with  Thomas The Train!
That was the only money we spent there.
Oh we did go to the Nut Shop and bought a few nuts!
If I have my way,I was not driving, I would not go down town Akron during the day light.
Let alone at night!!!
As for it being a REQUEST! That not what I got from the sign I saw!
Any one else have any answers to my question! I would like to hear it!

Thanks!!!

Crocker Park in Westlake only has signs at the road entrances to the shopping center.  I don't know if that meets the requirements for a sign or not.

Concealed is concealed.

I'll check around and see if I can find an answer.

Also downtown Akron is actually very safe. Other than the occasional college bar brawl, not much goes on down town.
