Hey all,

I've been pushing off getting my water meter changed for a while. Now they are threatening "further action:"

Failure to schedule n installation appointment will result in further action per Cleveland Codified Ordinances.

The problem with this is that I live in Summit county, so how do they have jurisdiction?

I'm probably going to end up getting it done, but if there is a way to fight it, I'd be interested to know.

Stop using our water if you're in Summit County!  Simple as that.

Sounds good to me. At least then my tap water would stop catching on fire.

there's been a crap-house full of articles, lawsuits, and stories about these alleged "smart meters." a gal in Texas this January got arrested and jailed for refusing one and standing her ground ON HER OWN PROPERTY not letting the utility people on her land to install one of these "surveillance" machines.  they arrested and jailed her and then installed the meter against her wishes. her argument was, I believe, it would endanger her infant's development with its electronic signals and electro-magnetic radiation. plus, they send your utility usage out over radio waves for anyone to intercept, are inherently inaccurate, etc.

George Orwell saw this coming decades ago; the question is: What Are We Going to Do About it?

I would take the Cleveland water supply over Akron's any day.  Cleveland's Water Dept may be screwed up in billing and other areas but the water is very good.
