I read through this article for the BFA: MAIG lied to Ohio Mayors. and after seeing my town and mayor on the list I felt like I should send him an email too...

Dear Mr. ___,

After having you in school for years growing up and now to say I voted for you as a republican...I am very upset to see you name under the members of MAIG. Orrville does not need to have any influence from these very anti-American big city liberals. I have to say I can no longer support you as a respected leader if you do not remove yourself from this filth.

I will be doing my part to spread the news of this discovery to all who will listen in Orrville.

If you wish to remedy this issue, please inform MAIG today that you no longer wish to be associated with them. Fax your resignation to Mayor Coleman at 614-645-5818, or call 614-645-7671. Or you may notify Mayor Bloomberg's office by faxing 212-788-6834 or by calling 212-788-2632.

It is time we stand together as a small community and protect our rights!!

Thank you,
Abizdafuzz

And here is his response...

Abizdafuzz, I received a threat just like this from James Irvine from Buckeye Firearms Association a few weeks ago. So I knew some of this was coming soon. Thought maybe if it was from someone that I know, like you, we might have a conversation about it before you would say what you did. When I signed on with MAIG about two years ago, I looked into what they were looking to do. It was the word "illegal" that caught my attention. I have nothing against someone having guns when they are purchased legally for protection, hunting or target shooting and when I see that MAIG is trying to take that right away I will act accordingly. Until then you certainly have the right to your own opinion as do I, and I would have thought I would receive a chance to talk to you before I received an e-mail threat like this. Threats don't work well on me Ben, which is why I did not react to James Irvine's e-mail. MAIG never threatened me to sign up with them, they came and actually talked with me. Sorry you feel this way. ____

Did I over step and make any threats like he is accusing me of? Or is he trying to reel from what he has done?

thanks,
Abiz

Ask him when he can schedule a 30-60 minute meeting time with you.

I need a firm email to send my mayor, but I do not want it to be rude and just dismiss it, any suggestions?

eta: and no you did not sound threatening to me...

Exactly what threats did you or Buckeye Firearms make?  Telling him that his participation with MAIG is not something that a constituent agrees with is not a threat.  Anytime I hear "I agree with you, but I don't like how you said it so I am not going to do it", my BS meter goes off.

MAIG didn't threaten him, the LIED to him.  Maybe a sit down with him to ask how a group pointing this fact out to him and giving him weeks to address it before letting voters know of his involvement was anything but helpful.  (Helpful if he truly is a supporter).  Several others were able to address this before the article ran why did he decide instead to get bent out of shape?

I was getting the same feeling from his response...and I don't like being accused of something that I don't believe I did any wrong doing. I'm going to try to talk a bit more with him but from what I have learned in the past few hours from others in town, he was voted in as a Republican but seems to be falling more to the left every chance he gets. But, I feel his answer was not sufficient.

I'm guessing he's feeling the walls closing in on him all over his small town.

So with that said, Keep up the pressure. He brought the fat chick to the dance. Now dance with her mother fucker.

Have a couple of other gunnies from your town call and politely talk to him about it.

If that doen't help, write a nice letter to the editor of your local paper asking why he is so easily fooled by a group such as MAIG and if he is that gullible all the time.

If that doesn't help, then get on the ballot opposite him next time.

Glad to see that my Mayor is not anywhere on that list.  I will make sure to thank him for that and let him know how I feel about this issue.

I understand that you have taken an information-impermeable position regarding your proud membership in Mayor Bloomberg's anti-gun group.  People are held responsible - both in life, and in politics - both for what they do, and what they say.

When your group claims that it only focuses on 'illegal guns' and then advocates to make more guns illegal, I suppose there is some circular, perverted logic there.

When you use the word 'illegal' as a fig-leaf to hide your disdain for civilian gun ownership - after all, that is what your group believes - it doesn't shield you from your behavior.  Instead, it either reveals you as a dishonorable man who claims to support one thing and really supports another, or exposes you as a fool who cannot be educated by clear and obvious facts.

There's no shame in being misled by the lies of a professional con artist, except when you can't admit it and stick with the con.  At that point you'll have to pick your poison: foolish, or dishonorable.

That guy's a real piece of work!

He is in full support of MAIG and it's agenda.
