It is not often that I endorse any particular candidate. As moderator, I must maintain some level of neutrality. However, Today's Lake County news Herald ran an article that indicates that Dems are setting up a smear campaign against our State Treasurer as he seeks to challenge Sharrod the socialist Brown for his Senate seat.
This is what I know about Josh. He is a Marine, He is well educated, intelligent, conservative, pro gun and an all around good guy. He would make a fine Senator and some day a fine President. I met him while he was first seeking political office for city council. He came to my house and spent 15 minutes discussing what I thought were important issues. I took too much of his time but he was glad to spend it. This is a good man that does not deserve to be rolled over by a smear campaign. |

When you have no argument it's easier to attack the other party personally...
That and our politics resemble reality TV more than anything these days. What matters most seems to be who can get the best zinger in and not a discussion of the issues. Sucks. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

...problem is on kevin coughlin's website he's got a old video of mandel in the stands at a rally (college students???) for al gore in 2000, ...back there cheering w/ the other turds for the gore campaign.. granted he was probably in college at that time, ...but still doesn't look that great...
that aside, i think mandel is pretty principled and trying to find cost saving measures in the state treasury dept. that, and the fact i will rubber stamp vote for the republican candidate over socialst brown - we can't get worse than socialist brown... he's a jackass. |

Much as I am reticent to even link Josh's name to the goofball junk I post under this account, he's good to go. The only debatable criticism I've heard revolves around him moving between positions so quickly. I don't think this is a problem - unlike the professional left, he has not abandoned his duties in pursuit of power. He's made good on promises to eliminate waste and restore some integrity to the treasurer's office. Rather than awkwardly grasping at higher offices, he's been in the right place at the right time during two elections where there is a strong conservative current. These opportunities have to be exploited. Marines live by maneuver warfare, and picking off Sherrod Brown is just that - the proper application of our strength in time and space against the left's weakness. Perhaps I'm naive, but in my interaction with him, I've found Josh to be sincere and principled - and if not always the most outspoken, it's because he is polished and focused in ways I'm not. I'd shower him with further praise, but it's really unnecessary. The left knows he's a rising star, and make no mistake, he is very much in their crosshairs (that article is about as biased as it gets, and, I'm told he's towards the top of the dem's national stop-them-in-their-tracks hit list). He's going to have to walk a tightrope unlike any dem in Ohio to avoid getting sidetracked in their Alinskian antics, but I have total confidence he'll manage while executing the duties of his office with excellence. And I truly believe our state will benefit from supporting him in whatever office we can get him into. To be sure, this was not an ad. I'm not affiliated with the GOP, I don't work for Josh, we're not old friends. I'm currently active mil and I have a completely unrelated civilian profession to get back to when I hit the fleet reserve some time next year. I stand to gain nothing more than any other Ohioan - it's just rare that I'm truly impressed with a politician, rather than considering them the lesser evil. Maybe I'll eat my words, but I don't think so... and it still can't be worse than Brown. |
