Drove by earlier and the range is open again.  I'll be sending some rounds down range next week.

Why was it closed in the first place?

The city of Powell shut them down.  Said the range wasn't up to code, and some shrapnel was going outside.  It's all fixed up now.

Any noticable differences in the shooting area ? Did they ever improve the air handling or lighting ?

That's good news. I heard the ventiliation situation is governed by Fed (EPA?) rules, requiring the whole system to get upgraded at once, big $$$, and not piece mealed. That would have been affordable to do, and they would have been adding improved parts as $ permitted..

Ya gotta feel a little for the Powder Room. They were there LONG before all these homes went up. Hell, if you don't want to live near a gun range, don't buy there!

Having said that, they are doing minimal upkeep, as it is leased land. Contract was renewed 2 or 3 years ago, but I don't know for how long.

Too bad. I was one of the early members many moons ago and it was a pretty good group of guys sitting around in the dead of winter, drinking coffee and talking guns and hunting. Haven't been back in a while now.

Went shooting this morning.  Everything seems the same.  It did seem a little brighter in the range, but thats about it.  I've not have problems with the ventilation in the past.

Didn't they stop selling memberships to the range? I thought I read something there that they were no longer accepting members. I wonder if that means they anticipate a sunset on the store / range in the not so distant future?

Didn't they used to allow Full auto on their? Id swear that when I called 6 months they said they did. Now that I got something to shoot they told me no when I called them monday. Looks like a black wing membership is in my future.

Dale, I don't know about memberships being sold now days. I know that mine is practically worthless. It used to mean a lot.

They did allow FA at one time. Again, this was some time ago.
