So anyone besides me and my son going to be at PCSI http://www.pcsirange.com/ this coming weekend to shoot an IDPA classifier?

I had planned to finally go and get my concealed carry class out of the way, but my local range near Marietta, Oh is not planning to run anymore classifier matches this year and this looks like a good op. for us to get ours done.

We plan to shoot two classifiers each.  We both plan to do our SSP again, but this year I plan to get my CDP done and my son is going to get his ESP done, both of these for the first time for us.

It's my understanding that you cannot go down in class only remain the same or go up.  We both currently are SSP Experts.  If for whatever reason we shoot a time that only makes SS, will our cards be signed as SS or EX in SSP?  I guess we have to make sure and point out our current classification so that we do not get lowered.

Maybe I'm misreading your message?

I'm unaware that an IDPA qualifier meets the requirements for an Ohio CHL.

that's the way it read to me too. it has to be a mistake, there is no way an idpa quall would count.

LOL!   I'll try this again...I guess that I didn't clarrify my thoughts to well.

May 9th Options:

1)  Take concealed carry class.  (which is a totally seperate event at a location other than my local range or PCSI's range.)

2)  Go to PCSI and shoot IDPA classifiers.  (has nothing to do with concealed carry class.)

Preference was to do option (1) and then at a later date get my IDPA classifiers done at my local range, BUT do to the fact my local range has no plans to shoot anymore IDPA classifiers, I have decided to just do option (2) on May 9th and then at a later date take my CHL class.

Now I have gone cross-eyed...hope you're happy.
