April 5 is the first of the multigun matches at Circleville. It seems like ARs have been selling like crazy lately, so certainly there are a few that need broke in with a good match.
Here are the stages to be shot: http://www.defensivepistol.org/2009PCSIMultiGunStages.html Rules, etc.: http://www.pcsirange.com/html/Division-multigun.html |

I may shoot?? . I am shooting IPSC the day before at PSCI depends on the the wifies irritability level
If you stay after the USPSA match and help set up the multigun I'm pretty sure you get $10 off your entry fee. You also can get $10 off by showing up by 8:00 Sunday morning to set up. Work both times and shoot free. Camp at the range overnight and avoid the wife problem temporarily |

If I make it to the shoot what all will I need? How much ammo for each gun should I bring and stuff like that? Go to http://www.pcsirange.com/ they have link for multi gun on what you will need and what to expect type info. As for me I'm out the wifie has my sunday already planed out, |

Here are the stages so you can figure out what you are getting into: http://www.defensivepistol.org/2009PCSIMultiGunStages.html I always bring plenty of extra in case of re-shoots and such. It looks like the minimum will be 79 rounds of rifle, 69 for pistol, 58 birdshot and 12 slugs. I'll likely bring 150 for the rifle, 150 for pistol, 100 shot shells and 20 slugs and will probably have extra in the truck. You will also need a means of carrying ammo for reloading on the stage. Plenty of guys use big pockets or vests. Chamber flags are required for long guns. They should have some for sale at .50 cents a piece. Large zip ties also work. There is a safe area for handling your guns. No ammo handling in the safe area and no gun handling outside safe area. Any other questions? |
This is great, they are closing range 8 Saturday and Sunday for this competition . Ranges 1 through 4 are closed Saturday for the handgun match. So were do the paying members get to shoot over the weekend? Last weekend Range 7 was full (only has four slots anyways) due to the boyscouts on range 8.
Anyone have any pull with the board? At least when we had competitions in the past range 8 was always left open for the paying members? I guess at the last board meeting they were talking about adding yet another competition to the schedule, pretty soon weekends will be completely off limits to paying members (unless you compete in something). |
| It's just part of being member, you have to take the good with the bad most of us shoot in the event's anyways so we don't see it as a problem. I know it does not seem fair but the range is open 7 days a week 365 days a year from 9:30 am first shot allowed to dusk. |

But this is not about being fair, It is about what is right. You charge money for membership, then the range is closed durring the weekends? Like I said, last year it seems they always kept range 8 open for the members and that worked well. Now they are looking to pick up more competitions in addition to what they have. I guess the range will need to decide, are they in existence for the members or are they in existence for competition. Either is fine, just be up front about it. |

You're complaining about being a member of a club that holds multi-gun competitions of this quality?
I think there are a whole lot of people that would love to trade places with you. There aren't any clubs near me that hold these kinds of competitions, but I sure wish there were. Why aren't you shooting in the competition? Sure beats standing at a shooting position putting holes in the same paper target over and over. It's your money and you have a right to complain, but I don't think you realize how good you've got it. I sure hope somebody takes a bunch of pictures. I'd love to see the props and targets, especially the star target. |

I'd love to see the props and targets, especially the star target. I realize how nice the range is and how fortunate I am to have one within a ten minute's drive of my house. But it does me no good if I can't use it on my days off (after my check was cashed). And I guarantee that anyone who wants to trade places will eventually need a range to sight in an AR, practice their benchrest shooting, or might just want to spend a day plinking with their .22 and they will find having a competition bar them from doing so to be very frustrating. For the record, I didn't complain about the other four or five ranges being used last year for these competitions, and I am very glad to see new shooters come to the shooting sports. I just have a problem with not having ANY range available for the paying members (and there are a lot more of us than competitors). All of that being said, I have watched a few of the various handgun competitions and they are usually set up well and everyone has always been friendly. Here are the pics from the past multigun competitions. You can see the amount of effort the volunteers put into this is a lot. |
| I'm not a member there, but I thought there were always a couple of bays left open for members during matches. If you do the math you'll see that the club makes a pretty decent amount of money holding various competitions to put into the facilities. With all the activities available I really wish it was closer to me. It's just shy of a 2 hour drive for me to get there. |

It really is a great club I have been a member for 10 years now, I feel our brother AR15er's pain on the range 8 being closed that day but it is just one day out of the month, Anyways they are very event driven and it's not really about money it's about what they can do for gun owners to make people aware that gun people are not radicals .. This year I have seen several families shooting on the weekends it's good to see both mom and dad and the kids enjoying a sport that has been given a bad name. One time you need to make it to a match, IPSC is this Saturday shooting starts at 10 |

My son and I attended several IDPA matches there last year as well as the Ohio State IDPA Champ. Great folks at PCSI we always love to shoot there. Where are coming from Mscott? Also, I tried to catch you at Rayner's this past weekend just to talk to a fellow ARFCOM-er. My son and I finally made it through the weather and completed all 7 stages. I just wish we would have started at S7 and worked our way back. It was our first time at Rayner's and I must say I really enjoyed the pie. We plan to attend the PCSI event this Sunday, I just hope we can get enough sleep due to the fact we're shooting a local night match the evening before. Hope to see you there...I'll be the short fat guy with the tall skinny son. LOL! |
|
I'm in Howard ... NE of Circleville. Didn't know anyone was looking for me at Rayner's or I'd have made sure you found me. I shot with Michael Craig, Mike McDowell, and a few others. I'll be pushing a red double stroller and shooting a Glock 24, Benelli, and an AR15. No idea what I'll be wearing yet. |
|
I seen McDowell and we waived at each other when we got to stage one early in the morning. It was our first time so we were tagging along with a few local shooters from Ft. Harmar....Jim Stewart, Tim Bradley, Tom Munc, and Chris Michael.
When the weather turned for the worse, the first three had enough and left for the house. Chris stuck around and finished the last three stages with us. DOUG! How the hell are ya! LOL. The plan right now is to get to PCSI around 0930, so see you around then. I do have a question though. My son and I shoot the Tactical div. and we just found out last weekend that you can use a bipod but it has to stay on for the entire match. We only have one bipod with a LaRue quick mount that makes it easy to remove and swap to the other rifle. Will there be any issue with us having to remove the bipod so the other person can use it? |

Who said bipods are legal for Tactical? Here's a link to the rule book Appendix D3 for Tactical Division: http://www.uspsa.org/rules/2009MasterRules3-17.pdf Rule book says no to bipods in Tactical, but they are fine in Open class. PCSI's rules did. PCSI's Multigun Rules It's a link on their page in the section... "PCSI MultiGun Competition Match Overview" TACTICAL FIREARM CLASSIFICATIONS
6.7 Rifle - Tactical Class 6.7.1 Firearms must be of a factory configuration (see Rule 5.3) 6.7.2 Barrel length shall not be changed for the duration of the match. 6.7.3 Internal modifications are allowed providing the modifications do not alter the original factory configuration of the rifle 6.7.4Tactical Class rifles may be equipped with one (1) optical sight - with or without magnification. A Red dot sight is classified as an optical sight. 6.7.5 Rifle supporting devices (i.e. bipods, etc.) are allowed in this class so long as they remain on the gun during the entire match. 6.7.6No magazine shall be loaded beyond a 30 round capacity. Rule 6.7.5 to be exact. If I'm missing something please let me know. |

Woops One other thing ... how do I make links "hot" on this forum???? |

Hey Bob, you probably got your wish. My time on that rifle stage was something around 46 seconds, but I forgot a couple of targets. My time was 66..something. I forget, how much time would the forgotten targets cost you? Oh BTW, it was nice to meet another fellow ARFCOM-er at a match such as this. I really got another surprise when our RO and I realized that we graduated from the same high school...just a year apart. Just more proof how small this world is. We had a great time today, especially being with our favorite West Virginia crew and their new addition. My son and I plan to shoot the IDPA event next weekend...hope to see some of you guys there. Later.......... |

I made the drive up from Athens just to watch and wish I would have shot instead. I hope to make it to the next shoot. At least now you know what you can expect. Pretty much anyone that just comes to watch says the same thing ... "I should have shot the match". There are plenty of good guys to explain things as you go. See you in June!! |
|
So, where are the pictures from this match? I've waited long enough.
I especially want to see close ups of that star target. I told you to take pictures, you DID take pictures didn't you? Ok, then where the hell are they? Get those pictures up or it never happened! |

Craig put it up nice and close to make it easy. I'd like to try the rifle on it, but they're afraid it would get tore up. |
