Just wanted to get the thoughts of some fellow Ohioans on LEO marked mags. I understand the pre/post thing and also the fact that at present an LEO stamp means nothing. My questions are, do you feel confident stocking up on these mags or do you steer clear and just buy pre and post? Do you think they will be taboo in the event of a new ban?
Maybe I'm just being a little paranoid, but in going thru mine, I was thinking of buying potentially "safer" ones for the long run. |

I don't care what they have writen on them. That 1994 ban is OVER.
Hell I'd buy mags that had Obama's picture on them. At this point there all legal. So buy as many as yu can find. I would assume if/when another ban comes. They will have to put some sort of date on anthing that would be for LE or Milatry only. Since we still see mags from the last ban that would be under a grandfather rule. |
| I'm LE and if the mags are priced the same I buy Non LE marked mags. I buy LE marked mags if they are significantly cheaper. I agree that LE marked mags produced before a possible new ban will be legal. I just think the Non LE marked mags will bring more money (if I need to sell any) if there is a new ban due to uneducated buyers thinking they aren't legal. |

I would only be concerned if the mags were marked LEO/MIL only and did not have a date stamp. It could potentially be an issue in the future if you couldn't prove the date of manufacture. With that said, I wouldn't get too worked up about it. If the price is right BUY BUY BUY. These are the good old days my friends... ![]() |

It could potentially be an issue in the future if you couldn't prove the date of manufacture. You have this backwards. You don't have to prove a thing. The State has to prove they're illegal.
Having a date stamp might be helpful, of course, but no date stamp at all offers no proof it's illegal which must be done. Note many M16 magazines have dates inside the magazine body. No doubt stamped there while the body is still sheet stock. –– Chuck |

In reality, it depends on how much someone is able/willing to spend on legal fees. |
