Does anyone have one of these? If so, does anyone want to put mine back together for me? I was/am trying to sell/trade it, however, the buyer/trader wanted me to clean it up. Like an idiot I removed the trigger, the hammer and the spring guide. Now, it's good for no one as I can't get any of it back together. Sounds pretty lame. But from everything I can figure out about this rifle, it is well-known to be a bitch to assemble. Bottom line - I'm looking for some face to face help on getting this thing back together. I'm fresh out of bandaids and neosporin after repairing my hands from the slips associated with stuffing stuff into an area too small for it. Thanks in advance. |

Try this and see if it helps at all thepackingrat.net/2008/08/08/m6-scout-assembly-tip/ and thepackingrat.net/2008/04/17/springfield-m6-scout-an-overview/ |
Yeah, this is the guy that almost got me crying. The funniest thing is his "video" that he posts doesn't even truly show how to get the spring guide put back in to the rifle - he simulates it because it sucks so bad to get it in. If you listen, he actually giggles when he says "pretend this is the spring guide". But hey man, thanks for the links and looking out for an fellow Ohioan. |

I got it together. Long story short (but if needed I will guide anyone through using the long way) - I put together the entire assembly, trigger, spring guide and rod along with hammer outside of the receiver with a slave pin. Dropped it down into the receiver and tapped the actual pin into place. Two weeks, half a tube of Neosporin and 45 bandaids later...I have a functioning M6 again. Much like the dude on packingrat...I will not be making a useful video of the reassembly process. Thanks again for everyone's links and words of encouragement. |
