Southern Ohio MG shoot coming up anyone going? Just thought I would check and see if I should look for any local Arfcoms? ![]() Southern Ohio MG shoot |
Ok I’ll look up for you ![]() That’s me hat and yellow shirt: will try to get to the shoot by 1:00 pm Friday to set-up ![]() Shoot |
|
I will be attending the shoot. It's a 4 hour drive for me and a few other buddies, so we are going to rent a spot for $40. We'll only have 1MG and 1 Silencer, probably a little anemic compared to most people's shooting areas. I'm bringing a silenced ruger, Max-11, and AR-15. Maybe an SKS or so. My buds will probably bring some pistols and shotguns. I figure we have the MG/Can, so we might as well rent the plot no matter how newbie we look ![]() If some ARFcom buds wanna join up to beef up our NFA arsenal, feel free to IM me and we can hook up! |
:( I spoke with them on the phone sunday and there were 2 spots available. They said to email about reservations. I emailed them about my interest today... hopefully one of the last spots was mine. If not, would you mind we joined in on your spot? We'd gladly cover the extra costs. I had two other guys and we were bringing a Max-11, Canned pistol, and a few other pistols/rifles. I was just planning on bringing 9mm, .223, and 22lr. I might bring a few boxes of .50ae and random rifle ammo. I wonder if gen admission people can bring SMGs and shoot? |
|
There is still ONE more spot available... and we won't be filling it. Ralph said there will be shooting friday and saturday with a cold range every other hour. So that's about 9 one hour shooting sessions. They'd like shooters to remain active at the shoot for the entire duration because the spectaors are there to see lot's of boolits flying through the air (obviously). Well, with a Max-11 shooting leisurely you'd run through a good 4+ cases of ammo alone. Not to mention the other semi pistols and rifles we were wanting to bring. My buddies and I were thinking of bringing two cases of 9mm and other assorted ammo... underestimating to say the least. After reconsidering, I told Ralph to go ahead and rent the spot to someone with deeper pockets for the good of the spectators. I just can't justify burning $600 worth of wolf in 2 days. I also asked if there was an area for other spectators to shoot MGs and Cans on a smaller scale because I'd like to bring some of my NFA toys. I figure the more the merrier. Belchfire, if a spectator shooting area is a no-go, would you mind if I joined in on your spot and brought a case of 9mm to burn? Although I wouldn't want to leave my two other buddies hanging so I'd have to think about that more. We are going... no doubts about that. I'm just looking for a way to get our boogerhooks on some smokewagons while we're there ![]() And no way in heck would I want to pay $25/mag for rentals when I have one of my own

No problem I’ll do what I can to help, let’s make this Ohio shoot a success. I have a total of 4 shooters at my spot now; I don’t think a couple more is going to hurt. I’m not going to bring the 1919 do to ammo cost so we will have 10’ of line to share. Any one planning on going with out a spot on the line that would like to shoot I would advise you to call 740-456-6700 or e-mail [email protected] You get 3 shooters with a spot and it cost $5.00 for each additional shooter. I’m not sure how they will handle additional shooters, you may need to pay the $10 bucks to get in and add the $5.oo to shoot with some one on the line. They lowered the position from $100 down to $40.00 this year, so I would suggest pay the $10 to get in to help cover cost for the shoot. If you can not get a spot on the line let me know I could tell them that some shooters from Arfcom may be coming and I would like to try and accommodate if that’s Ok with them. |

Information I just received in my E-mail apparently has shot down my plan to have other shooters in my spot. Firing line rules line 20 only allow 3 shooters per shooting position, I’m already over by one. And only one shooter on the firing point at a time. This was not the way it was in the past shoots, we shot 2 or 3 at a time and I had over 3 they just had to pay extra. I will check to make sure this is the case and report back. |

Well i plan on being there saturday. I'll be the other big guy there, I am not as tall as some of the others, I'm only 5'10" but i do bring 36" wide sholders to the table. Just a big ol country boy that grew up in withemsville. I'll probialy be wearing a Harley Davidson or Nautica t-shirt. I hope to see some of you all there. John |
let us know asap . this is going to creat a huge problem with my group . we might cancel over that....... |
Well, I don't know about 3 people per spot shooting. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with people that close next to me. My shoulders are a good 24" across. that means you'll only get about 12" inches between you and another shooter. I'd say 2 people firing at once would be nice. |
Plenty of room for 2 and 3 if you look out for hot brass most of the time 2 are shooting and its no problem.Check out the video I know its poor quality but you’ll get an idea of the set-up. The wood post are the shooting line and your spot side markers Shoot Looks like I’m maxed out 5 in my spot now I just hope we can shoot 2 at a time |

Good Shoot, Thanks to all the hardworking folks that put it on and the volunteers. The RSO's made sure everyone stayed safe but weren't overbearing. Man it was darn hot and humid, we were feeling pretty bushed/sick but shrugged it off, any day shooting is better than working! Rich and I sleep in the Hummer, some kid came up about $130 and asked if we were asleep, lol. They were making lots of those until very late. I think Rich got about 4 hours and me 2. Rich really hammered his little 22 LR GSG MP5 clone, Several thousand rounds without any major issues. His scoped on his PTR-91 came apart while shooting, we had to make a run to Walmart for a replacement and barely made ut back for the night shoot. Those 22 LR tracers we had, everybody seemed to love them, bright even in daylight and lots of fun. We gave away several boxes and shoot the rest. If you'd like to pick some up @ pineymtnammo.com/ They're a great company to deal with. Special thanks to fellow BFA leader Rick Jones who set up and ran our table at the shoot, also the official photographer for the shoot. We took in a few small donations but no one signed up to volunteer. Lets no forget if you want to enjoy and freedom you shoot help defend them. This is a great shoot, Not too big but big enough, Plenty of tannerite, Rich killed about 3 quarters of it with his scoped 91 ![]() Thanks again and hope to see everyone next year! |
oh, did anyone else see Rich Shoulder firing the Barret, ![]() how many ohio arfcom guys made it? i didn't talk to any, saw you speaking to rich belchfire, i said hellp but you must not have heard me as you walked away. Too bad Rich's camera died, Anyone get pictures? |
Sorry a bought that I’ve been told I don’t hear very good would liked to have met you. We were so busy cleaning guns and loading mags I hardly got to check out the line. Next time I’ll probably just miss a session and be a spectator and get some good pics of the shoot |

I went up there on sat and i was going down county 18 road or whatever the number was, after marker 3 like the directions said, there was no markers of any kind that i saw. I was kinda mad. I drove for 2 hours one way to see nothing. I went a couple more miles to play it safe. So then i headed home. How far down that road is it? That way i know for next time. It was hot as hell out also. I am going to try to get to knobb creek to this year. It has been a couple of years since i made it there. Sorry i missed you guys. John |
Rich and I about died of heat stroke, lol. Sleeping in the Hummer was ok except for the kids screaming andd aking us if we were awake all night. ![]() Sorry you couldn't find it man. You just had to watch for the parked cars, if you weren't looking real close the entrance was eay to miss. If I drove 2 hours I wouldn't be goibng back without going over the place with a fine tooth comb, lol. Sorry again man. |
