| Is it still open. Everytime I call it the phone rings and no one answers. |

I was there earlier this year and it was just fine and seemed to running normally. I go there to shoot clays because they keep your count for you and the people are friendly. Rifle/Pistol is ok because you get to bring random shit to shoot. It may not be the nicest place to shoot, but the clays are just fine and its always fun. |

I was just there ljust ast month and it was open, Al looked okay, just showing his age. It maybe called a trash dump, but I can tell you my kids love going there and shooting at all they have to offer, from bowling pins, the old computers and for me, if that's what keeps those kids interested in shooting at their age, so be it. |
If you don't already know, the Ohio Grand River rifle range is about 10-12 miles northeast of the A&A range. 25, 50 & 100 yard rifle shooting from benches. |
Define EBR friendly. They don't mind if you have EBR's and a bunch of guys from ARFCOM used to shoot there a bit. I think they have something in their rules about allowing double/triple-tap shots but not ripping off a whole mag (besides, you're shooting at a paper target anyway). Get to know the RO's and they'll usally extend some leeway. |
It's a three shot burst IIRC. Semi-auto only. Get to know the RO's and they'll WHAT? Those guys have gone soft since I left! Anyhow, for $24.00/year, it's the best deal around. They have nice, sensitive Range Safety Officers now, as well. (grumble) Groucho |

I have not been there in a few years. I've known Al personally since he opened the place, even flew in his plane with him. The only reason the rifle range turned into a dump was because he was spread too thin on his own as he got older. It's a shame really, as it could be a nice place. |
How'd I know you would pop up in this thread? You're just bitching because you can't boss us around anymore. ![]() So you gonna come out and shoot with us sometime? |
| I was at Grandriver last year a few times. The RO was a Nam vet who would tell anyone who would listen about it. He told me that I was shooting to fast.It was not double or triples. I was just shooting a steady rate of fire at a USPSA/IDPA style target that I ok'ed with him. Then some Kid who was all decked out in his Hi-power coat glasses etc with his Grand, tells the Ro loud enough for me to hear that I am just wasting ammo. When I was done I gave him the target that was mostly A-zone hit@ 100 yards. I told him that everyone does not shoot the same games. All in all its not a bad place,it just depends whos there. |
Let me know when the gang or you are going out. I'd love to join in the fun. I'm always working on my next load for the 308 or just blasting away the loads I don't like. Any excuse to squeeze a trigger is a good one. Groucho |
